I think they are scared that they will have to adapt.
Sure, not everything is good progress, sometimes there are missteps.
But for the most part, Monster Hunter keeps moving in a positive direction. And we can clearly see that they listen and learn from each release.
played with my friends at school classroom at lunch, on the rooftop afterschool, and farmed solo at night so i can show off my shiny new gears to my friend at school the next day
repeat that everyday for a year before we moved on to other games and coming back to 3 ultimate on college days
good old time
I feel like the whole unlimited access thing could be fix by having left over items from a hunt be in left in a camp that is placed, and you can slowly stock up to a limited amount for restocks.
I remember running out of Healing in GU against Silver 'Los and having to scramble around the map for herbs and honey to make some mega potions.
I ultimately never finished it cause i thought it was too grindy and the controls were ass, but it got me interested enough in the series to pick it up when a PC game was made.
Iceborne was also decent expansion, but it wasn't as good as base World was because of the skill bloat issue and the importance of Clutch Claw mechanic.
Rise was also decent, but it lacked any meaningful end game content imo.
Sunbreak expansion was a big improvement for Rise, but it had the same problem as Iceborne had: skill bloat.
I also didn't like the wirebug movement system in Rise at all, because while chasing monsters I felt like I was playing a bloody spider-man game...
I did try MHGU on the Switch at one point, but ended up abandoning it soon after.
I guess I got spoiled by the World's dynamic map design.
