Where is the forbidden lands?

some say it is in the new world some say it's in the old world or even a continent. what do y'all think?

I'm extremely confident it's old world. Some of the ruins I've seen look like they probably come from the artians (ancient civilization) which would track because MH dos and MH4U had the ancient civilization be more prominent in them, and Wilds seems to take after those entries the most.
I also feel a fair amount of Frontier in Wilds, which probably focused on the ancient civilization the most.
