How to get to top of Area 3 in Plains?

Maybe i missed something but i can't seem to find a way to the top platform above the camp in Area 3 of the Windward Plains. There's a fulgerite deposit and a mining point that elude me. If i try to use the bird mount, it takes me pretty far away, even higher up and then just stands there, looking at the distant platform in area 3. It can't jump it because it's too far, and i can't fly across :)

Has anyone else managed to get up there? Mind sharing how?

i assume this is you trying to find out where the nightbloom thing is, and i assume it took you to where you need to jump as you've described "stands there"

you should be able to glide across with the bird as it doesn't do it automatically.

The bird can glide across? Okay how can i get it to do that?

Press the button to jump off and then immediately press right trigger to start gliding.

check your keybinds, i have it on numpad - since it's not something i use frequently and in a way, easy to press if i need to.
