If you are not the host, you are not in charge.
Its Monster Hunter etiquette 101. If the host says kill, don't immediately trap the monster. If the host is setting up barrels for sleep bombs, don't run in swinging. If the host asks you to cut the tail and you have a severing weapon, maybe stop fighting the hammer user for positions at the head. If the host and two other people are fighting one thing, do not run off and die three times in a row to the tempered monster across the map and cost me my last investigation of a huge reward like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥. If you are not the host, stop acting like you are. Make your own hunt if you want to hunt your way. If you join my room, I am in charge. It isn't rocket science. I hate all of you newly attracted mass market slop zoomer players who just hop in and have no respect for what this game or its traditions and make no effort to learn them. MHWorld was the biggest mistake capcom ever made and the fact that it succeeded proves that the devil is real.

We wouldn't have to keep having this conversation if these people would just follow the rules.

"Rules" this is more an common sense. Don't waste your time asking for common sense from worldies.

Radical view/method:

Greet everyone who joins (text or sticker), if they do not reply, kick them out before any harm is done.

Polite and listening hunters always reply.

Capping only acceptable in 1 scenario;
The group is down to the last cart and people are struggling. Then and only then it's a matter of how much you value your time.

You can't control what other people are going to do. Ultimately, if you remain in this frustrated mindset, you'll only diminish your own enjoyment of the game.

If you really want the other hunters to do things a certain way, then you have to hunt with a party whom you know and agree on these things in advance (or use in-game-comms/voice-comms).
I wouldn't expect randoms to play how you want them to play. Just kick them if you don't like them.

I will still catch only to make you angry. Is faster and everyone has everything already anyways.

I catch in less than 2 sec, try to kick me that fast.

If the host states he wants a slay instead of a capture, sure. I'd say that's common etiquette to listen to that request once it's been made.

I will say attacking through sleep and/or not waiting to see if the host puts down bombs is not governed under an assumed common etiquette though. As stopping your assault on the monster is seen as just lowering your DPS for no reason. You should not expect everyone to follow the rule of leaving a sleeping monster alone.

My Standard Co-Op play is this-
1. Find Monster.
2. Attack Monster.
3. Attempt to Trap Monster.

Unless asked or told to do otherwise this is my super-simple strategy for EVERY SOS I join. There's a lot of smaller things I do, such as target the tail when I'm not using my Hammer, or pick up random items or set off environmental traps, etc, but generally I stick this this tried-and-true strategy.

While I haven't been kicked from a hunt, I also haven't had any hosts get butt-hurt over what I do. Most seem totally fine with cutting off tails, capturing the monster, going ham on the wounds I set up, etc. But OP, while you may be the host of the hunt having an attitude like, "YOU WILL DO AS I DEMAND, PLAY AS I LIKE, OR YOU WILL BE KICKED!!1" seems a bit... self-centered. Relax, and just play solo/with the AI if online randos get you frustrated.

(I've been playing Monster Hunter since I discovered it in an Arcade when I was like 14. I'm 35. 'World' was not a mistake, and I believe it to be the BEST MH so far, with Wilds primed to take that Flagship spot one day if the DLCs aren't awful, that's my opinion, you may feel as you may.)

Its not like everyone follows the "break all parts for maximum rewards" either.

All I can say is: not a lot of people gives an eff about anyone
lmfao another day another multiplayer etiquette thread.

This is true though

I got so tired of having to kick people from my Rise hunts because they get to master rank and still don't understand how the sleep mechanic works that I eventually just stopped playing with randos altogether and just play with bots. I can already tell when master rank drops for this game I'll end up doing the same thing. People are just too stupid to play with when there's an actual challenge.
If your a host and you want the game to go a certain way play solo and get lost. End of discussion. You can ask but if they dont want you guess what? they are free to do whatever.

If you put out an SOS it means you need help. That means any kind of help. If you dont like it create private lobby and invite people who do what you like.
