Too high CPU temperature - Can't tell what changed
Hi to everyone,

I am asking for help here cause I can't understand what happened.

I play MHWilds on a MSI Cyborg 15. Until last week, while I played the game the average temperature were in a range between 75-83°C. Now, after a week of inactivity, I experience these issues:
1) The game does not start until i try 2-3 times to launch and restart steam
2) The temperature skyrocket to 93-96°C during the hunt and even in the camp with just an open menu

While i Play, i alwasy keep MSI Afteburner and MSI Center set to Extreme Performance to monitor. I did not install new software and I checked for background stuff but in general since last week I did not change/update anything.

Does anyone else have the same issue or could tell me some potential solution? Thanks

Have you double checked the laptop itself? Something might be impeding airflow.

Hi Moonlight,
Regarding hardware and external environment setting. For environment I mean, the air temperature (since last week there were no major temperature changes in the room), the laptop position (I play it with some support to keep it 10 cm over the desk to ease air flow. I don't know if it can be cause by dust, but a drastic +10-15°C increase in one week I don't think it could be caused by that.

Moreover, the thing that I can't explain is also this difficulty to launch the game, it takes several attempts and I cannot explain what changes when it successfully launches.

I would check and see if your graphics settings are how you left them. Sometimes patches will reset options like that. Maybe your FPS is uncapped now and that would definitely cause the temp of your system to spike.
