Shader compilation takes too much (25 minutes~)
I see this game as one I want to keep coming back to whenever there's new content. But every time I want to play it, I've updated my graphics drivers, so the shader compilation process must to be done, and it just takes too much. (I'm on a 4070, i5-13600KF, and 32GB RAM.)
Personally, I end up not playing because of that. I’d rather launch another game that lets me jump straight into the action as soon as I run it.

its your CPU and maybe your HDD/SDD. My new PC with a Ryzen 9 9950x3D needs 6 mins, my old one with a Ryzen 7 5800x took about twice aslong. Shader compiling is heavy core reliant the more the better

Share a DxDiag report for advice
u shud only have to compile shaders once after ur driver update unless something about ur hardware profile changed like maybe if u changed ur oc/uv or w/e bios preset setting and then it should only recompile very fast like under >1min

thanks for the feedback, it seems to be related to my PC, not a real problem with the game.
Thanks once again!
Why are you updating your graphics drivers that often?
Bro, upgrade your toaster still living on HDD.
My 3 year old pc with ssd takes around 4 minutes every single time to compile shaders.
Its litteraly not end of the world to wait simple 4 minutes for the game to run better.
If you need to wait longer then maybe you should start wondering why it takes 25 minutes in the first place because that sure doesnt sound like normal number.

I mean what part in "SSD required!" written in system requirements on Steam page of MH Wilds you don't get.

Seriously so many complain about stutters and bugs and poor optimization when they are trying to play on HDD and dont even bother to read system requirments on store page before purchase xD

I explained it poorly, what I meant is that each time I casually launched the game, my drivers had just been updated. It only happened 2 or 3 times, but it was enough to stop me from playing.

Nvidia stable (aka normal) drivers are updated like once a week for the past months. What do you mean you get updates every day?
If you are running beta updates of drivers then thats on you.

Yep, and that’s basically the reason. I was updating my drivers every two weeks more less, which lines up with when I stopped playing the game. No beta updates involved.
But anyway, based on the feedback, it seems the load times on my PC aren’t normal.
Nothing else to add, just wanted to thank everyone again!

I was just curious if there was an issue that made you need to update them. I haven't done it in quite a number of months.
