Visual indicator for time to counter/guard
I'm getting old, and thus my eyes aren't what they used to be. As well as a slow down of reaction times, etc etc etc. LS used to be my main weapon for many years. That stayed the same until Worlds, which is when it got its parry attacks I think... aside from the Hunter Arts moves in previous games. I've never been great at detecting when is the right time to initiate the counter-slash or IAI counter. So much so that I've barely used the LS in Wilds at all.

I was just wondering if there were any mods out there that give some kind of visual indicator for when is the correct time to use the counter? Pretty much like in the Batman Arkham games. I'm drawing nearer and nearer towards my 5th decade, and nature is beginning to take its course.

I know this might be considered as 'cheating' by many, but I don't play multiplayer, and it's just something to give me a reason to pick up the LS again. I looked on NEXUS but don't see any. I've just never been able to get the timing correct for most monsters.

last i checked, there is a mod to at least show hitboxes, but it breaks due to frame gen and i never bothered with it although it is interesting to see how the hurtboxes function, except im already seeing them do it's work as i get hit by attacks and experimenting already with carts enough to identify the annoying existence of lingering hurtboxes.

off topic but what i meant by my complaint would be attacks that require a bit more evade window to deal with as it has lingering hurtboxes, such as at rey dau which led to me realizing it's best to just ♥♥♥♥ off from the hurtbox as it breaks the idea of what it should've been.

being gravios and zoh shia's beaming the floor, you'd think that should deserve a lingering hurtbox, but no, the moment you've iframed it, you will no longer count to it which made me wonder what the goal of hurtboxes are to them
I don't know of any. I'd probably use it myself for the same reason.
I also could do with a mod to change Charge Blade's Savage Axe controls back to the World version, since trying to combo charge attacks (i.e. holding down a button, releasing and immediately going back to gripping the button down over and over again) is severely hurting my right hand.
ls was always weapon which is easy to use, but cause counter timings are tight af, its hard to master. even if you see indicators they will be like 0.4 sec on lai counter, and around 0,8 sec on foresight, unless they boosted a bit iframe windows which i doubt for lai counter it still feels around same timings as world

There is none. The problem with that is simply that even if an attack is counter able it does not mean it hits you.

So programming such is as good as the health bar signaling that the next attack might be fatal.

Considering that there is little to no difference from having an additional visual indicator or just using the monsters' tells.

Best you can do is to train that.

Wilds has a deliberate input delay on it's counters for some god-forsaken reason now, so it's not just you. Sheath-counter was made deliberately frustrating to pull off consistently, and even then you have the performance issues.
