But I think the only way to really hurt yourself without any enviroment help will be the bomgbs. Some people or speedrunner use the small bomb to get the i-frames after being sent flying
Closest thing I can think of are those poison cup plants they have in the middle of the Crimson Forest. They had those in World too. Used to get poisoned by them a lot.
I tried the bombs and do not affect players, and you can't eat shrooms... And when it comes to poisoned meat, I still have to try it xD
I have a nice berserker build and I can't use it because there's no autoharm in the game like in previous entries xD
wihtout mushroomancer the character just refuses to use any mushroom
using poisong meat will just put it on the ground as a lure
Corrupted Mantle doesn't work because "drains" the lifeforce, doesn't deal damage as it is, therefore there's no red back like it happens with poison xD
tried it aswell xDD
Corrupted Mantle doesn't proc resentment since there's no red bar, and the idea it's using 4 pieces of Nu Udra to make Resetment shine even more, so using frenzy it's not an option sadly xD
Where's the fun in that? xD
It's kinda sad seeing that the game is as easy as it's restrictive... LET ME EAT MA SHROOM e.e
There are also these dark hornets that will attack you if you destroy their nest or get close to the roaming ones and they can afflict you with poison, but they will ignore you mid fight and go for the large monster
My personal signature move is to make CE tables for every Monster Hunter game I can which let me use infinite Barrel Bombs.... then to win entire fights with just Barrel Bombs. I even did it somewhat recently with MH3U emulated in Cemu.
In Sunbreak I did something even sillier and found the timers for the monster-riding system to allow infinite riding.... and then used an ordinary Kulu Ya Ku to take down max level Risen Crimson Glow Valstrax and Primordial Malzeno in a single hunt. It was insanely silly, but I love doing things like that. In fact I have made videos of a lot of it on my main account (or rather my Youtube account, linked to my main Steam account).
Modifying the game to allow unorthodox play-styles is great fun. It is just a shame there is such a silly taboo against this sort of stuff for Japanese games, to say nothing of multiplayer-possible games. There are far fewer options than I used in... say... Skyrim VR.
The idea it's recieving damage over time like poison, allowing us to sustain the resentment passive + some other passives that work based on your health or if you have a status effect or not.
