Focus mode without free aim?

I'm not a big fan of the free aim of the focus mode, but I'd still like to have access to the focus attacks. Is there a way to disable just the free aim of the focus mode?

Basically allowing me to use the focus attack like silkbind attacks in Rise/Sunbreak?

No. You cannot do one without the other. Though that might be a good idea for a mod.

Just treat it like a combo. LT+RB. Press both together then let go of both. Don't have Focus on Toggle. Simple.

Through normal means, it's not possible. Try to search for mode using 'Focus Mode' tag, I found one that enables free aim even without focus mode active, so it must be possible to do the opposite. Also if IIRC, on controller you can't (or couldn't on beta) free aim while in focus mode, so trying to use one may solve the issue.
