My monster hunter wild keeps crashing
So I my computer setting was as below:
CPU: i9 10900 KF
GPU: rtx5080 wind force OC
RAM: 64GB
Mother board: Aorus Z490
Cooling system: Kraken 240
Monitor: ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCG
Power: 1200W
I newly got my 5080 just last month (2025/04/16), and after upgrading from rtx 3080 to 5080 I enable the frame generation the game’s fps was smooth BUT kept crashing every 1 hour or less….
Crash report in the beginning mentioned changing settings in the BIOs then later kept saying that i should turn off frame generation.
When I really turned off frame generation and even lower the settings the fps in the game was still pathetically 40-50.

Can any one tell me if I should upgrade my CPU as well? Was it the really cause?

Crashes:

Know issue by nvidia driver. Driver rollback to driver version 572.16 should fix it for sure.

Performance:
You are 100% CPU bottlenbecked.
Thanks for the info, I hope my new AMD 9800x3d can fix the problem.
I also hope that Capcom can fix the frame generation crash problem later.

Again the crashes are not game related but your nvidia driver.

So you mean even if I have my CPU upgraded it would be better to roll my driver back to 572.16 to avoid the game from crashing?
Also how about my frame generation, can I still enable it?
Thanks

You're confusing two PC components that are entirely separate and different from each other. NeoX said to revert your GPU (Graphics Card Unit) drivers (it's a software) back to version 572.16. Version 572.83 works as well, since I have no issues. Your GPU has drivers to ensure it's working properly up to date. Do not confuse your GPU with your CPU (Central Processing Unit).

On Google, search "how to uninstall nvidia drivers" and "how to install older nvidia drivers." There are guides including videos that can help you through the process. NeoX stated that your crashes are related to your Nvidia drivers, so getting a new CPU may not be able to fix your crashing issues.

So by rolling back my driver back to 572.16 or 572.83 I can still play in 4K and have frame generation enabled and free form crashing (or at least not this frequent) ?
If that the case then it would save me a fortune.

You will still be bottlenecked in performance by the CPU. Keep that in mind.
It seemed that a lot of people were recommending ver. 572.83.
It’s just that no one mentioned if they were playing in 4K and if they have frame generation enabled or not.
Well i’ll just change my CPU and try the older version and have frame generation off and see how it goes and then try with frame generation on later and see of it crashs.
