Battle Armor has bullets, what for?

So I've noticed the battle armor has bullets on it, but I've never seen a gun in monster hunter. Are there guns in monster hunter? Did someone have one in an older game, I'm sure the battle armor is probably referencing an older character but idk I haven't played all the games.

Bowguns eject casings when you shoot them as does the gunlance.

Charge Blade also ejects phials which kinda resemble shell casings too.

Bowgun bullets are made from fangs or claws shoved inside of bones or even plant husks with gunpowder inside. they are pointed.

I mean maybe, they just look too much like real bullets and I haven’t seen what the bowgun shots actually look like very well since they’re normally flying at high speeds. I also would have figured that even the light bow gun shots would be bigger than the bullets on the battle set. The bullets on the battle armor look too small to effectively hurt any of the large monsters.

Yeah people have said the bow guns but as I said before the bullets seem to small for the bow guns and I didn't say this but same goes for the gunlance. I mean I guess it's in both of those names so I suppose they're named after regular guns. I also figured the bow guns shot some kind of bolt type projectile but maybe it is just bullets, but I'll also reiterate that the bullets on the battle armor seem to small to d significant damage to large monsters.

I mean it's a fantasy world where dragons and super humans exist, the fact that 'guns' that shoot 'bullets' made out of plants and nuts can damage monsters should be the least of your concerns lol
