saw a person roaming around a GH today with no name and when i do lobby player search it come up as unknown are they hacking?

cant there is no option to report there there listed as unknown and its grayed out everyone else on my list is reportable but that one player its like there playing mhw in incogneto mode lol

Screenshots of his player ID in the list and report to capcom. You can upload these screenshots also to steam and we report it to capcom for you.

Just so you know with this people use symbols in their name that deliberately cannot be read by steam leaving their name as blank, it screws up their i.d software, pretty sure doing that on its own is a no no on steams rules and regulations. Oh and be careful doing what they are trying to get you to do and show their name on a steam forum as that is 100% classed as naming and shaming and a swift ban for that one, not sure if they are trying to get you to do it on purpose to report you but your choice.

And it doesn't look modified to me. Not even remotely. Name checks out. Gems in slots check out. Weapon usage checks out. Monster counts check out. Their only Arena time is a B rank.

Maybe, maybe not, that i do not know but say if you linked their profile and actual profile name that would be, like i said though seems a bit weird to me they are persistently trying to get you to show names, are they a MHW mod ?, i am presuming not and they would know full well that is a violation.

It is 100% not a bug on your end mate i have seen this as well and know exactly how they do it, they use symbols and fonts that cannot be read by steams software, they do it on purpose.

Its not the ingame ID, its for support/report reason. Thats why we need these screenshots. Also if its letters that steam can not handle, they usualy get a default name. Therefore this is not normal.

I am not going to show you how to do it as that would be an offence in itself but if you google it there is ways you can do this and it would not replace your name it will leave it blank, people do it on other games, sometimes there it will show a comma instead or a star but with alot of games it ends up in being blank.

These are simply sneaky people that know how to abuse this and have probably been doing it for years on alot of games. One main reason they do this is to cheat but maybe they have not been doing that in this game, just using this flaw to make their name appear as nothing like they do in other games they cheat in. their player id number is gonna be an oversight on their end, i mean after all it is hard to report someone that has no name but the id in this is great as a gotcha for them sneaky peeps, thumbs up to capcom for that one.

Yes and that abuse is against the EULA of user-names. Remember that this makes them also unavailable to report for other thinks like OP has reported. Thats is something that has to be addressed and reported.
