Elden Ring Nightrein
What do you guys think of elden ring nightreign? you think the target audience overlaps with monster hunter fans? MH wilds is first entry to the series and nightrein will also be my first entry to fromsoft games. The game seems to also have meta progressions (not sure how good it is) and randomly generated levels. So every PvE battle will be unique. It's sort of like hunting monsters but more fantasy based. they can make it more like MH by requiring boss grindings for weapon/equipment parts and power ups.

Behold! Fort, night!
There's overlap as being third person action games, but they both have very different feels, especially since Nightreign is going to be so focused on co-op in a way Fromsoft hasn't tried yet.

I don't know if I want them to take that much from MH, but I do think that some of those elements could serve it's gameplay loop really well!

I'm personally very interested in NR, it seems really strange and I just love when studios experiment with weird stuff even if it may not fully be to my tastes

I'm pretty much done with Fromsoft gameplay.
It was nice while it lasted. Hardcore and meta players will love it.

I agree. Looking forward to see the real gameplay in action. Been looking forward to a great coop PvE game. I don't know much other recent PvE games other than Helldivers 2 and MH wilds so Nightrein seems really interesting. Even overwatch 2 still cant deliver its PvE promise to this day. So looking at this company trying something new really makes me want to see them succeed.

Yeah too much deaths. I feel you. The overly dark themes doesn't help either.

Of course it overlaps. The only people that will deny this are fanboys of MH that are worried that it'll kill off the remaining of Wilds playerbase. But guess what? This is exactly what will happen, so you ain't wrong for panicing.

Why are you still here if you hate this game? Vile fascination?

Anways, i think Nightrein looks neat.
I'm sure there is overlap but Fromsoft games are not the same as Monster Hunter so I wouldn't go into it making any comparisons.

Not just the deaths. The focus on reaction time and/or the need to play the game with a guide to compensate completly renders exploring useless.
I played all ds pretty much for multiplayer pve boss battles.
They completly killed that idea with Elden Ring. Multiplayer not fun, not worth it.

damn if i had known coop pve was a thing in ds i would've tried it

guess what? it will never happen but even if it would happen due to some strange cosmic event that happens once every 1000000000 years I would never go back playing that piece of ♥♥♥♥ called elder ring et similia

games are nothing alike and thinking they are is what someone that's never played either does for drama farming
The only thing that fits the venn diagram is coop and bosses. Everything else is completely different, including play style. Not even remotely the same game or genre.
I can think of a few people who might try out Nightrein (as well as most 3rd person action titles) but there's also people like me who just dislike the souls-like genre. I'm assuming that Nightrein will have the extreme difficulty philosophy of Elden Ring and I haven't been fond of the idea of playing multiplayer in games that are popular, none of it being appealing to me. But I'm just part of one demographic, the people I'm thinking about who would play it are another.
