I got it randomly when joining an SOS quest. Guess I got lucky lol... I spent hours grinding for the mini Uth Duna though. Just finished my last crown off today. Good luck OP!

In general: yes.

On the one hand it becomes harder to get "weak" monsters once you get into high rank.

On the other hand, Ud Nudra has a lesser chance to spawn miniature than giant, simply because the conditions where Ud Nudra spawns prefers a stronger version.

So you either are very patient and keep waiting for it to spawn in weather conditions which makes it weak, or you double the patience to get it mini where it normally often spawns.

The chances are really not that high, considering how the spawn works in this game - but is still more convenient than in previous games. That is, until you have to hunt a very specific monster like Ud Nudra.

The chances are high that in the future an event quest might introduce to offer a mini Ud Nudra.

Ok but why Nu Udra in particular makes it harder than the other apex? Apart from like one guy who has a giant post on Rey dau i've never seen someone ask for it or Uth Duna, you would think they'd get asked for alot but unless i'm just that blind i only see Nu Udra

Uth Duna got asked in the past as well.

The low chances apply to all apexes with the exception of Arkveld, which is often hunted for Artisan weapons and can appear multiple times in multiple locations, while the Apexes are limited to their environments with only one of them being able to spawn at the time.
