Audio / SFX stuttering on certain Monsters
Ever since the recent Title Update, I've been experiencing an issue where the audio seems to stutter on certain SFX when fighting certain Monsters. Some encounters, it doesn't ever seem to happen, while others, it will occur multiple times during the fight.

It is most likely to occur when fighting Arkveld and Zoh Shia.

The best way I can describe the audio issue, is that it sounds like the same SFX is stuck being triggered ever single frame, over and over and over. If you've ever played a game where some physics object goes flying into something, gets stuck, and starts spazzing out, and the collision SFX starts spamming like crazy, that's kinda what I am hearing.

The duration of the glitch is usually about 10-20 seconds, or so. And leaving the fight, or when the quest ends and you go to the reward UX, the sound glitch starts fading out and goes away.

Anyone else experience this?

There was one report of this and it was related to unsupported old Hardware with its unsupported drivers.

Can you post us a full list of your hardware incl. driver versions?
If you are not sure on how to do that, you can use "the System-Meeter-Bar"s ( http://smb.it-huskys.com/index.html ) System-Report function with the default data and software selected in the report.

No. Did you do the game update routine?

Hmm... haven't see those instructions before, but I can try them out!

The troubleshooting routine is always worth it to be on the safe side. Especially since every update there is a chance for file corruption due to the download.

Considering your DxDiag report, I would suggest increasing the shader cache to 100 GB and check if the issue persists when you run the GPU in debug mode.

Can you help me understand why these GPU settings would be related to my audio issue? I don't see any graphical problems...

The game's audio is bound to certain graphical effects - if those gets stopped, the audio gets stopped as well. My suspicion is that the game is having hiccups in loading some video affects which immediately affects your audio as well.

It is just a suspicion worth checking.

If the issue is entirely audio only you could - depending on your devices - check if the HDMI audio output of your video card works without any issues.

The monsters you have mentioned, Zoh Shia and Arkveld are known for their graphics effects which can cause stutters. Hence the suspicion it is directly related to each other.
