rathian tail flip spam

has anyone else encountered this? i was fighting a rathian and then it used its tail flip attack like 10 times in a row without stopping then just sat in the air for like 2 minutes

depends on the rng, sometimes you have a rathian that loves doing flips and other times its rare.

if it bothers you, you can flash it out of the air while it is doing it or you can fish for perfect guards or offset attacks, because this attack is very predictable.

if its a 5 star strength (the purple stars the monster has on the map) it will have new moves and more aggressive attack patterns. 5 star rathian straight up has Pink Rathians tail attack, and will use tail attacks consecutively up to 3 times. Can be a bit of a nightmare especially if Rathalos comes to help her. Wait till you fight a 5 star rathalos.

Yea, He tends to spam this. Sometimes I see him do his dumb running forward 5 times in a row. I hate the whole Rath family.

If a rathian does that to me, she's either getting flashed, a counter, or lose the tail in the process.

Well if they dont retcon the lore and It still counts yes, the mizu we fights are Always male

No wonder their tail slams feel so vigorous and manly, able to one-hit kill you if not wearing protection. You can't help but feel enamoured after a few ploughs.
