Insect Glave Idea

Hey all. I just started to learn the Insect Glave and finding you have to use a claw grip to use this thing effectively (Xbox Controller). I had an idea I think may solve this issue for me. I wanted to get the communities input on this idea.

What if the right trigger which brings up the Kinsect Crosshair/Vaulting were a "toggle" instead of a "hold?"

With what little experience I have with the weapon, it would solve a lot of the problems that make this weapon less than comfortable to use (for me).

Are there any modders that would be willing to make this a mod?

Do you think CAPCOM would be willing to add this in the game?

If you are trying to get capcom to add in something like that it would be like trying to get blood out of a stone unforunately.

You can set focus mode into toggle already. That should help.

Yeah probably. I'm not anyone of note so I'm not expecting them to do anything about it. I suppose if there were a big enough complaint about it from the players, they might do something. To be fair they are going to be working on the Hammer, so it isn't unheard of, right? I think they did say they are going to be looking into each weapon one by one as the game and player base develops.

You can set focus mode into toggle already. That should help.

They're describing kinsect collection mode. There isn't a toggle for it I think, maybe there is but I still do not recommended that idea personally.

I do not recommend a toggle function for IG due to the fact that it is a very vulnerable position as you cannot roll , you are forced into a vault animation if you think about dodging.

I believe you could roll while in this state, but there was a bug in the beta, their solution was to remove it which is a very dumb method of fixing something if this is true.


I enter kinsect collection mode (ctrl hold) while in melee/midrange and charge the kinsect which is holding m1 for me,

focus mode can collect essences for you but it is difficult to get certain essences for monsters immediately as the kinsect travels in an arc that might miss the part you're aiming for as the monster can move in a way that dodges it or collects another essence you have.

At the very least for red essence for the start of every hunt in any map

Get the target dummy barrel for the camp so you can get red essence asap at the very least to mitigate this slight issue.

Mouseover the reply you want to quote -> at the right upper corner of that message you see three symbols appearing.

The first is to quote, the second is to award a comment (aka giving a points appreciation prize) the third is a sub menu for moderation (report and block).

By clicking on the first symbol the message you want to "reply to" gets copied and put into a

On the upper right corner of the comment you want to quote there are 3 buttons. The button on the left with a downward left arrow on it is the quote button.

You could also type it manually if you want.

Is there a controller of some kind I could buy that has an option to program a button to a Toggle?
