AT RAY DAU: a little consideration
So I tried yesterday a couple of hunts of AT ray dau and I must say that it is a really fun fight and I love it. I can see what the devs did here: they did not want to give us something with a boosted damage and his attack velocity increased, like in world for AT Velkhana. Instead they gave us a totally new and fresh fight. So, good job and thanks for this new fight. I hope that the other AT apexes will be as fun as this Ray Dau.

The tendency is for content to be harder and more challenging, specially when the expansion comes out.
glad a player didn't join the hate train this forum has been the last few days.
Let's enjoy the game everyone. New and veteran hunters alike!
ye its rare too see actually ppl who understand... i too find the fight pretty fun

its a fun fight, its just not difficult and honestly being an Arch Tempered Monster, an end game hunt, it should have some back bone.
?
totally new?
it only has the splash attacks or whatever you want to call those. The moveset is the same, it just has like 3x HP and that's it.

and are you old player? already got your 5m kill in that easy fight? cause if you are veteran i have no idea what else you can do in mh outside speedkills, cause everything is easy when you have thousand of hours in mh genere

Last few days...?

There are always people -even before the game got fully released- who are just here to complain for no reason. I start to think if they do not hate that they have nothing in their life to hold them together.

I have.
50h = MH portable.
200h = MH portable 2
400h = MH Unite.
800h = MH P. 3rd.
20h = MH 3.
600h = MH 4 Ultimate.
700h = MH World/ICE.
300h = Rise.
100h = Wilds (and rising)

And I still enjoy this godanm game, sometimes I give myself handicap, so I can make the fights more tactical, and I find the tempered monsters challenging enough to have fun.
I honestly don't get those people who come here to say they HATED the free update.
Edit: I finished the main history with only 11 defense, the starting set, and a dream.

i do enjoy myself, consider how much hours i have in mh genre myself, i dont expect any fight i wont kill in my casual run, even in master rank unless its some rly rly late master rank monster. but i do enjoy trying to kill fast, cause when you try to kill fast you go for risks which usually you ♥♥♥♥ up, unless you already practiced a lot. but can clearly see you are veteran too, since you play with almost no def which is also good approach for old players. Even before if you look on souls games, ppl did speedruns, now they do just sl1 cause their xp is high in those games that outside sl1 its too easy for them.

It's one of those things most haven't registered on the forums that if you're a long term vet, base game monster hunter just won't be very difficult for you unless there's a fight that really hits your weaknesses (me with AT Rey Dau)

I too, love this game to death though, I am of the very controversial opinion of it being my favorite of the series, despite some outstanding issues lol
Glad you enjoyed it! It's a personal favorite of mine now, although, I do wish it wasn't capturable, would've given it the perfect "oh no" energy

That would be a cool feature to add to AT monsters.
Uth Duna is likely up next. That one is gonna be a ♥♥♥♥♥ for its constant belly flops. Mark my words

Fŭck that with a Greatsword. We don't need more non-capturables. That bullsh!t is what ruined Sunbreak. RUINED it. Would have been a fine addition otherwise, but that one factor completely turned it to sh!t and killed any desire for me to keep playing. It destroyed the 100% perfect Capture record I'd kept for non-dragons all the way through Rise.
Besides... Rey Dau is already immune to shock traps (though I figure it would have been smarter to take the Zinogre approach of having shock traps power it up).
If anything we need special methods introduced to let us capture Elder Dragons and giant monsters. The last thing we need is to encourage more brainless murder-hobo behaviour. We need to add more nuance back into the hunt rather than just "mash Y until monster ded".

In fact... what would be a great flagship for Master Rank is a monster that literally CANNOT be killed.... and needs a special capture routine to seal it. Japan loves sealing sh!t away, right?

AT Uth Duna will be pain. Not for being hard or anything, but because of those annoying waves.

Non-issue. Aquatic/Oilsilt Mobility completely negates them.
