I can solo, but playing with other people usually is way more fun because funny stuff happens and the interaction with other people is fun too.

Just the capturing is annoying because killing monsters is way cooler and more satisfying.

I never capture except for that one mandatory quest just because it's more comfortable to just bonk the monster than bothering to secure materials to create the traps and sleeping powder and using the menus to select the trap, place the trap, wait for monster to be trapped, select the sleeping drug and then throw it at the monster. I think most people who capture are not short on time and worry about efficiency. They just want to be THE one to capture it giving them some weird sense of accomplishment. But in any case i don't mind if it was captured or killed.
