Stats-wise, the best thing on the armor set is the Group Skill Guts that makes you immune to one-shots and gives you 5% attack permanently until it triggers. Not only this is a permanent moxie meal but if you don't trigger it, it's 5% free attack with basically 100% uptime, which is huge.
So, funnily enough, at least for me, the best way to use the gamma set is ... to not use Latent Power at all lol. Use the gamma head, gloves and legs and use Zoh Shia chest and waist. Filling the sockets with appropriate decos gives you maxxed out Weakness Exploit, Agitator, Stamina Surge, Stun Resistance and 2/3 points in Maximum Might and Evade Extender. Without counting any charm that you might use. Seems well-rounded to me.
You get Guts from the Rei Dau 3-piece and 2-piece Zoh Shia bonuses (healz). The charm slot is free for whatever you want extra. If you use Latent Power charm, you can benefit from the 2-piece Rei bonus for extra duration. Or just put Counterstrike, Constitution, etc. whatever your weapon fancies. Or comfy skills like Wide Range, Speed Eating, etc.
I am still not sure if this is better than 4-piece Zoh Shia or Gore but if it does not beat them, it's pretty close and a worthy contender. And the 1-shot protection might come in handy in future AT monster hunts.
Edit : Oh, and if you are using Greatsword and don't pick up 3-piece Rei Dau Guts, you are not worthy of the weapon, throw it away and pick another weapon lol.
WEX 5
LP 5
Counter Strike 3
MM 3
Elem Absorb 3
i dont see it never outperforming my current 2 zoh 2 gore set but its the best i could see to do with it... the comment above me ignoring LP entirely is probably the way honestly
It has next to no slots, and any other armor you wear with deco's can do whatever it does, and more.
The only piece worth mentioning for the AT Ray, is probably the gloves with 2 Deco Slots lvl 3, and evade extender lvl 2 (if you care about that).
Other than the gloves, I can't see myself using any other piece of the armor, because losing, or not having as many slots as I currently do on any other armor set of mine is just not worth it.
I will say this though. The AT Ray armor (female set) does dye pretty well, making it look pretty nice.
Even the thunder Resistance on the full set is kind of trash.
Zoh Mail B
Rey Gloves Y
Rey Belt Y
Rey Boots B
Challenger charm II
Lord's Soul (Guts)
Rey Dau's Voltage II (Thunderous Roar II)
WEX 5 (4 decos in those lvl3 slots)
Agi 5 (1 deco)
Max Might 3
Latent power 3 (1 deco; subbing 2 piece gore antivirus 3)
Evade Extender 2
Stamina Surge 1
2 lvl1 slots (flinch free/ shockproof & adaptability)
Can sub out a level of WEX for Burst.
Its fine, but affinity isnt really an issue in most sets.
