What it needs is ... actually more RNG lol. Make ANY item trade be totally random. Because right now the "good stuff" can only be bought with predetermined rare items from the map. You want some Fulrugite for that item - sure, I got some, oh wait, you want THUNDERING Fulgurite.... How about I give you 20 regular filgurite instead ? No ?.......
Imagine trading 20 herbs for some Sild cotton or something - trade should be random, depending on what each village needs. Right now, e.g. Sild cotton can only be bought with Ancient coins and some other rare crap. Surely the village could use some Mega Potions, mushrooms or something else evey now and then - they are pretty isolated, what do they need so much Ancient coins for ? That's what trade is all about in the end - you need something from me, I want something from you - these things chage with time.
It doesn't help that everyone and their mother want these cursed coins, 10 or 30 at a time, for everything, and you can only get like 1 at a time. Or turn the game into some kind of farming simulator that would totally kill any desire to play the game, because instead of hunting monsters, you are farming crabs.....
Wait till you find out Gajau boots can only be crafted with a special skin from a rare fish that you can only catch with the fishing pole (net does not work), only during bounty season. And it's not even 100% drop rate, just to spite you. I am not joking. Now, whoever came up with that, deserves some (permanent) time off. Removed them from my wishlist and moved on. Yea, I am not doing that.
As of now, the only thing worth trading for (at least in my opinion), is the ingredients, but even then, most ingredients for food can be gathered manually without having to rely on the traders for food, since they seem to always have it in store.
