Seriously though, Capcom is pretty disgusting for this practice.
I blame the DLC success of MH Rise for that. They made way too much money with the morphing weapon skins back then. Yes i know, it started with MH World, it got extreme with MH Rise and the sales of them there.
I remember it was around 1 EUR per weapon. And as usual it was optional. So unless people bought it I see no problem, putting aside the fair price for the art.
1,49€ per weapon. But you could see it as a test. How much can be gained with additional "high quality" cosmetic stuff.
And many were willing to get it. So they designed a whole roadmap of cosmetic "premium" dlc's for the future. I do not say its gamebreaking, i said it would have been different if way less would have bought it back then.
Considering the fact that World does not have a cosmetic DLC pass, I think you're the one who does not know how it works. Anyhow, the passes here are just straight up a scam. You get like 1 cosmetic DLC set and a trinket or 2 along with a bunch of stickers and emotes per pack, meanwhile the rest of the actual cosmetic DLC can only be gotten as a separate purchase and is not included. You could probably sue them for this type of thing and win.
Most likely.
I do not think I care enough to be annoyed about the DLC price policy. After all, same with the DLCs in Monster Hunter Wilds: no one needs to buy them to enjoy the full game.
Even Alma got her outfit for free during the event. I personally consider it a nice gift.
The game is not full of bugs, is optimised, is full of content, has a great story, awesome monsters, and is sure finished with more content being added for free. No idea what your personal problem is, but if you are not satisfied with that much content which is already in there then I do not know.
They recently had to even fix some of the DLC because it was causing a progression bug that would prevent you from continuing your save. Even the DLC is buggy and broken.
I’ve been reading through a lot of threads here and noticed a recurring pattern where certain users respond almost instantly any time someone posts something critical about Capcom or the game. That’s not inherently a bad thing — everyone’s entitled to their opinions — but when those replies consistently dismiss the issues that many others are experiencing, it starts to feel like we’re not having a balanced discussion.
Just to be clear: I’m not accusing anyone of anything. But when someone frequently posts in defense of the game and minimizes widespread problems, it can make it hard for others to speak honestly about their experiences without feeling invalidated. If dozens of players are reporting crashes, lag, or frustration with monetization, maybe it’s worth considering that these problems are real — even if they don’t affect everyone equally.
Take performance, for example. Personally, I haven’t had crashes and generally maintain 60FPS. But several friends with better hardware are struggling with serious lag and instability. That’s not something I can just dismiss because I personally don’t experience it. And on top of that, there’s the monetization — time-limited content, microtransactions, and other elements that understandably rub people the wrong way, especially for a full-priced game (many of us paid €110+).
I know some users like to say that complaints should be emailed directly to Capcom, and that posting on the forum doesn’t help — but Capcom themselves have acknowledged community feedback gathered here. These forums do matter, and sharing honest impressions (positive or negative) helps shape the direction of future updates and games. If everyone only posts praise or refrains from pointing out problems, then only part of the picture is being seen.
And finally, the 63% positive review score on Steam didn’t come out of nowhere. That reflects real dissatisfaction from a significant portion of the community. It’s not about hating the game or forming a conspiracy — it’s because people want the game to be better, and they’re frustrated when it falls short of the standard set by previous entries like World or Rise.
Criticism isn’t the enemy — silence and indifference are. If we want games like this to succeed long-term, we need space for open, respectful discussion that includes both praise and valid concerns.
***I have a screenshot of the original if anyone is interested. Just thought this would be more fun.
Just pick up the items you want on your character and leave the rest. Its just cosmetics so its all going to be a matter of taste anyway. You miss zero content by not buying any of that dlc so stop acting like you have to buy it all as it comes out. Thats crazy.
