Blast is quite good with part damage causing staggers, very nice for weapons that require a setup for a payoff.
Always end up playing Poison in the end lol, and in Wilds yeah base poison is so easy to build up and keep up that you can basically ditch all the Venom jewels for something else this time.
It's there, but it seems to hit its hard cap so fast that you can reliably keep re-applying it; meanwhile, Sleep/Paralyze take so long after the first application that the monster will likely be dead before you get a second application, nevermind a third.
This is from a hunting horn perspective
para for slower weapons. sleep for the heavy hitters like hammer or greatsword on really short hunts like with frenzy monsters. para kind of loses its purpose when monsters are stunlocked by default so the wake up hit gives a bit more.
personally iv had something fall asleep 5 times during a fight. not really tried out any blast weapons because most of them are negative affinity but i might make an artian one to try it out
just wish they would make layered weapons already the artian stuff looks like ass
