It's not like they got a choice. They'd start using mods in a heartbeat if they could.

I dunno, I see more whining from people that consider ALL mods cheating (even cosmetic mods basically).

Yes and because ps is a closed system. You would have to void warranty if you want to pull stunts like Reshade there. People will also try to cheat on ps it only far less common.

How is modding in a custom outfit cheating? What advantage do I gain from it? Your delusional, people who cheat times and one shot monsters in other groups should be banned sure, but people just wanting better performance and better looking armor shouldn't.

I agree, would they do that, my review, still positive, would instantly turn negative and capcom would be banned from further purchase.
Not being able to mod is bad for both reputation and longevity of a game.
The only reason Skyrim is my most played game is because i can infinitly mod it.

By principle, game shouldn't ban mods.

Although i can understand detecting some mods to lock you out of a server as long as they are in use, and i'm all for banning cheaters (though i don't really care if others cheat as long as it doesn't affect my game, hence as long as i don't join their hunts. Leaderboard never were something i cared for).

Ok, maybe Capcom shouldn't ban mods but install kernel level anti-cheat to stop people from cheating and editting the game files.

They did that with World and Street Fighter 5.
They were immediately bashed by customers that they had to remove them.

Only real stupid customers would demand kernel level anti-cheat in PVE game.
It would make an already bad performance even worse.

Mod haters are just envious console players who rage because they can't mod their own game. Because they're miserable, they want everybody to be just as miserable as they are.

Yup, Capcom finally explained that using mods is cheating.

I think that when addressing the issue of mods, everyone on PC should be thinking like a corpo. 'Can it affect the shareholders money, or could the shareholders THINK that it could affect their money?' If the answer is 'Yes' expect some effort to be made by Capcom to move for modding bans.
Corporations are not our friends. They only need to think that we are evading giving them
additional money to have an incentive to crack down on such things. Prime example, Nintendo's war on emulation despite using emulators themselves.
