Recovery Speed vs Recovery Up
Hello everyone,

I wanted to try out something different today. I never paid attention to the Recovery Speed skill, since i have nothing else to do, i wanted to experiment with it.

So Recovery Speed only makes the Red Gauge fill faster and the Recovery Up increases the healing via Items. So they dont stack right ?

I am very curious, if you are afflicted with Poison and/or Fire Blight, Frenzy (Corruption) for example, can Recovery Speed outheal or negate the damage over time ?

Was there any other Monster Hunter Game, World/Rise etc, where Recovery Speed was used or kinda useful to have ?

Yeah I am very bored haha, kinda need to experiment with it, but first need to farm Zoh Shia.

EDIT: If I remember correctly, In World/Rise, there was some Skill Set, where you could recovery health back via attacking or fullfill a damage over time effect condition. I wonder if skills like Bloodlust (Sunbreak) could be enhanced with these 2 Skills.

Recovery Speed isn't really that great unless you're wearing the Zoh Shia armour and can heal up to full health just by idling. Also it is an active liability if you're running Resentment.
Most of the time you won't have much red health to heal away, and being able to do i faster won't really increase your survivability.

1st the skill was augmentation on weapon called healing or so
2nd look up vaal hazak armor sets + skill
3rd they do stack basically but yh its those immortal builds you'll see around which is currently nice but doesnt and mostly wond outheal
i tried full recovery speed with zohs healing bonus and nah it doesnt compare to potions
so the skills are basically to heal more then just red health but is fun when you just dont want to use potions and therefore make the game harder basically

You have skills again which allows you to do that in Wilds.

Personally I see Recovery Speed only useful in combination with Peak Performance. It works well with the new Zoh Shia armour.

If you are affected by a damaging blight, the damaging blight will always be prioritised, as if the skill recovery speed does not exist. So you cannot outheal it.

Haven't used jerkies since World lol. They were very important then, I never left camp without some. They DID heal red HP, I would assume they stil do in Wilds ?

As for the OP, I think they stack but it won't make you immortal either way. Zho Shia's set heals you very fast through red HP and continues to heal you to full after that but very slowly. It is an anti-chip damage set.

It allows you to stay offensive for longer, instead of trying to stay out of execution range by drinking pots when you take damage. If you know there won't be incoming damage soon (like when the monster is down or paralized) you can safely continue the paintrain while possible and not worry about your reduced HP - the set will take care of most of it by the time it matters.

With that set you only heal via pots when you take big chunks of damage that make any potential follow-up deadly. Say <60% HP left. The rest of the time you just continue dps-ing. It saves you constantly looking at your HP bar every second to decide whether it's time to run and heal or continue with the assault.

And besides Zoh Shia's set (as with Vaah Hazak in World) Recovery Speed is useless - the red HP is only a portion (a small one) of the total damage that you took, Recovery Speed only works on that portion, you still have to heal the majority via potions.

Recovery Up, on the other hand is very good if you need it - any healing you take is improved (I think it was +30% at max), which makes your Major Healing potion basically a Full HP pot, your regular small Health potions now heal almost as much as your Major ones. Also applies to mushrooms via Mushroomancer. It a good "I need more healing" skill. You struggle with healing - your heals are not fast enough or you run out of potions, Recovery Up is the skill to take. It only takes 3x lvl1 decos to max it, too. It also scales linearly - lvl1 is 10%, lvl2 - 20%, you are not missing out on any bonuses if you just have a single free remaining slot in your armor (like e.g. Attack Boost, where you get almost nothing unless you have it maxxed out) - just pop a Recovery Up deco and you healing will improve.
