And since the best mistake Nvidia ever did the 3070 is pretty much out of reach the next best thing is choosing the least worst out of the rest of the 4k-5k lineup
The 5ks are starting to drop in price to acceptable levels, but their power consumption is a major turnoff for me.
Edit: Tried the game again after the content patch and the new drivers, game runs good enough now, not ideal with the reliance on frame-gen but oh well the 3060 can still do it
*or equivalent for AMD (maybe 7700XT~9070)
If you do not want a console, why are you not sharing your DxDiag report? Everyone here knows that just the GPU will do you not much if you have a CPU which bottlenecks your performance.
Stay away from 50xx, they have problems (you can still try them, but they suffer from hardware issues, driver issues, lower performance, no physX)
People say amd 9070 XT is also good but I am not team red.
But - this game especially needs two things, a good gaming cpu like an ryzon 7800x3d (the x3d is important) and a gpu that handles framegen and dlss/far well with more! than 8gb gpu memory.
If you want self-made-issues to troubleshoot all day long, go ahead.
But then know what you are getting there.
You already hit the nerfs of a lot of people with your dxreports and false claims.
I play with Texture set on high, but everything else kept on medium/low, 1080p and frame rate cap 60.
Now, saying you don't care. I had problem with 4070 non ti, i ended up changing to 9070 xt because i could get one on msrp. I'm playing on ultra now, although it runs a little more smoother on high, but it's more and problem which i should lower ray tracing but i don't want. I honestly can't elaborate why i having much better experience with the 9070 xt than 4070, i don't think it was supposed to be the abysmal difference i having.
Just for reference. I cap my fps at 75 it never dips, i sometimes also play with FG which, at least for me, don't impact gaming performance or input delay. In fact, i had better arena runs with FG than without it for example.
I also have a friend running an 7700x with an 3080ti, he said capping fps at 60 rarely drops around 50's.
I would suggest something new if you can afford it tho. Not like 50xx new but something that can deal with FG and upscaling.
Btw, both nvidia and amd are the same ♥♥♥♥. Don't fall for people protecting one or another, just remember those people are the same that will tell you the game has no problems with performance. Just find something good that you can afford and don't forget you'll need an decent cpu as well.
get the 5060ti it just came out with good reviews get the 16GB not 8GB
my 3060ti served me well i bought it around 2020+ during pandemic and i can still run mh wilds ( with framegen and fsr high setting and i get around 100 fps on 1080p monitor . but i get a feeling that 1-2 years from now my gpu will just able to run AAA games in low-medium setting
So if im going to upgrade my gpu its 5060 ti will be my target .
also dont forget you need a good CPU .. get a AMD5
previously I'm using ryzen 5700X and 2070 super.
Playing mid/high setting with 1440p monitor. I got around 50-70fps.
Finally i got the 9070xt after a month of hunting for a stock.
Currently i'm on ultra (RT on) setting with 80-90(s) fps. I could get 100 if i tweak it a bit.
And I tried the HD texture it only lost around 10fps, but sometimes it is stuttering so i go back to High texture.
My cpu could be bottlenecking my performance now.
This. 7800XT runs the game fine (~60fps) natively but at 1440p it has horrible drops to <40fps.
If you are gonna get a new GPU for Wilds, it all depends on the resolution you play on, but don't buy anything under 4070 Super / 7800XT, anything under them is not worth the money. And don't buy anything with less than 12GB VRAM for 1080p or 16GB VRAM for 1440p. Ideally you are looking at 9070XT or 4070Ti Super / 4080 Super (these run fine for 1440p and are good value).
Don't buy 5000 series Nvidia unless you want to tinker with drivers and stability all day long. And burning cables.
The game is so unoptimized that you need a 800€+ GPU to play at 1440p/60fps....
5060Ti is the worst GPU to ever come out since Fermi. Not at that price. If it was 250-300, it would've been worth it for 1080p only. But it's nearly double that. Don't buy that crap.
