Should I feel bad I cant sub 5 the arena challenge?
been at it for a few hours and can still only do 6 minutes. Im not sure what i should be doing with glaive because the bug is the slowest one and you dont have the damage output for fast wounds, and im no good at the bow. I would essentially need to learn the other weapons and master them in just a few hours if those are better builds. Seems its rotating out tonight.

you def shouldnt feel bad, dont let a game control your day like that
Why would you feel bad? If it personally bothers you, then keep practicing and get better. No one cares if you sub 5 the arena. Coming to the steam forums to ask if "you should feel bad" for not being able to clear a challenge is such a strange thing to do.
A far worse problem is that the monsters killed in the arena count against your Hunter Profile record and it is impossible to capture them due to lack of tranq bombs.

The bug is slow, but the Glaive is actually quite strong.

No reason to feel bad if you learn something from it. PAy attention to the skills and figure out the idea how to use the build. All players who fail getting an A in arena usually are overlooking something, either regarding the armour skills or weapon moves they did not know about.

just got 5'08"99, basically chained as many rising slashes as possible, feels bad i was that close. Im not sure how to keep up peak performance as some of these attacks are difficult to avoid if im trying to execute combos. the problem is bug comes back to you too often to attempt to keep it out for healing dust. Mending mantle doesnt come back fast enough to really be that helpful. Feels more geared towards the bow half than glaive. Ill give it a few more tries but not feeling confident in my abilities.

Do not focus too much on healing for Peak Performance. It will happen naturally if get more hits and dodge the attacks. Also utilise sneak attack in the beginning, and riding the monster against the pillar / wall for extra damage.
In my personal opinion, being that I have become adept at DBs, Hammer and Switch Axe but the rest of the game is practically alien to me, even after 20 years with the franchise, these leaderboards tend to just be a waste of time unless you are an all around hunter.

There are a lot of weapons I genuinely do not enjoy in MH (oddly enough ALL of the challenge weapons) and so for me to get a sub 10 with weapons I actively don't like using is a waste of time at the end of the day. We play video games to enjoy ourselves and while I'm super happy for a lot of folks with this leaderboard addition, don't feel like its something you HAVE to participate in.

What I would LOVE to see is the addition of single weapon leaderboards. Having mained DB's for 15 years and feeling comfortable with a few other weapons, it would be really entertaining to see where I stack up against other DB users. As it stands, Idc much for this leaderboard. On certain weeks it will suit certain weapons users far more than others, ultimately skewing the overall leaderboard and where you should stack up.

Every weapon is worth playing and fun. I encourage everyone to master all weapons - otherwise you are missing out on more than you can imagine.

There are another 10 days to go. I'd imagine by the end all the top 10000 will have times under a minute and they'll all be damage hacks. Assuming Capcom don't come down on it hard... having top 10000 pendants going forward will probably count as proof of cheating.

Having completed all Arena Quests across every generation of Monster Hunter...
...no, absolutely not; it's the most difficult it's ever been, IMO. Some of that has to do with the game still being new and not everyone know how to perfectly execute Offset Attacks or space out their Clashes; we weren't given enough time to proof our batter before being expected to win the cake-baking competition. :winter2019sadgingerbread:

I obsessed madly about this in Rise, but I'm slowly accepting that, by design, your record may never be perfect. :2016imnotcrying: Also worth noting that due to when you unlock your secondary Weapon, it's impossible to have perfectly even usage across your career: you'll always have at least two fewer uses of your secondaries. :UnhappyMask:
