Between the downed invulnerability and dive-evade you have all the tools you need to survive even the longest combo. Not to mention that you are supposed to avoid getting hit to begin with
I've been running Zoh with GS w/o quick sheathe and not once gotten combo'd, only hit when being a greedy ♥♥♥♥♥ for that sweet sweet TCS. So i'm not gonna be the one to say it but i think you know the words for your post, sorry about it :/
I've learned that after ONE charged blast, he does a second one.
Take that hit if possible and then STAY DOWN.
I spent 21min on my first hunt to figure him out and then the others with my brother while we were taking him on
there is your issue Zoa Shia isnt a "normal" encounter its a high level monster that was made to fight Elder Dragons and is a buff variant of the end game boss its meant to be hard
i have i think 14-15 clears by now with 4 being solo (3 of which i did with 0 carts) if you have fire resist and even a decent set of armor you can tank 2-3 hits in a row and then call your seikret and heal on the move if your still taking that much damage maybe look at your armor skills and pick up evade extender (and the other one i forget the name of) that gives you longer dodges with more I-Frames and then start up fire resist and then invest some armor spheres
another thing that might help is if you get armor and attack charm and equip them to your loadout if you havent already then farm some armor skin potions
So what most people are saying here seems mostly correct, they are missing something - as I think you may have.
The TWO absolute best way to prevent getting wombo'd are
#1 learn the tell for the nuke and
or
#2 Learn to negate the damage:
...and this is where I think your problem is. We've all been running around in whatever gear because the monsters were pretty darned easy up until now....
[8]Make sure you have high rank armour and preferrably with armour upgrades. each piece may have a base of around 65ish andwith upgrades it goes to 75ish - giving you a 15% damage reduction.
This effectively gives you around 250% health. Now you'll only vulnerable to a full nova if you just stand there like a dolt. With all this on, you can survive his mini-nova, too.
Oh, and if you run something with a heavy shield - I played with bowgun for a bit - you can straight up tank his novas, his run, and his mininuke just by holding block.
I made a pure damage build that slots all that in, BTW. I was thinking I'd make a YT video on it as i'm basically unkillable.
The only thing is that Frenzy seems to ignore my ironwill at the moment so I'm experimenting with that trying to figure out what's going on there - it might be intentional, and it might be bugged.
so how about you learn your blocks and last moment dodges properly and dont get fully hit from the first hit in the chain :) dont stand up is only needed if you fked up already
