I, for one, do like the music. Am I actively listening to the music? Generally, no, but not cuz its not good but because Im tuning it out to listen to audio cues that generally indicate Im about to get hit in the face by a pissed off super fish.
and Rey Dau's theme while the rest are just OK.
It just means that I'm not definitely alone with this sentiment.
Everybody on YouTube keeps glorifying other themes but I can only hear Resident Evil boss music, and they aren't that special in my opinion, too many trumpets doesn't make a theme great, however I still respect their opinions because it's personal preference at the end.
And yeah, it's disappointing for me to have Wilds's OST being so mid so far.
Extra points for giving Rathalos his own theme based on MH1.
I think Mizu's theme is a dud here due to splitting the main melody in two and adding a super low-energy break into what's supposed to be a relentless dance of a song.
So might as well be an AI, could have saved them a lot of money probably
