Unfortunately its probably here to stay, capcom seems to think that the story contributed to the high sales of wilds somehow.
a) it is setting the mood
b) the story is actually pretty good
I really like Monster Hunter World because of the Story, Monster Hunter Rise is a failure for me.
The story is something that brings games to life.
Hitting the dragon just to hit it... how say... boring...
If the game didnt have a story and the characters were mostly mute, it would be outright better.
