High Rank Zoh Shia is really starting to ruin my enjoyment of the game

I have attempted this quest maybe 15 times. all have failed. no matter what I do I get to phase 3 and then game just decides to go "lmao have 3 faints in a row, ♥♥♥♥♥"

Edit: Ok so I feel like I do need to add some clarification here to my little rant

!.) Finally beat ZS on attempt 16, finally gotta a good group together for it. I love you hunting horn users

2.) I have zero problem with the fight until phase 3 where ZS starts shooting off fire balls like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ machine gun and following it with a nearly undodgable horizontal lighting strike that, in my opinion, does a bit too much damage even with lightning res

just gonna assume you didn't even try to make a build for it or eat for insurance or do literally anything to actually prepare for the hunt? Probably just using 4 piece gore magala with -12 fire resist and didn't even bother trying to offset that at all? I know there's a huge meme going around that you don't have to actually prep for hunts anymore and for a large part of this game it's true, but if you're failing 15 times in a row you should really try to do just that.

I only wear 2 piece of gore magala beta and have a fire res of -6 but I run recovery speed and recovery up with a mender mantle. that lightning attack in phase 3 just sucks ass and doesn't give a good frame to dodge when you are knocked down. I have no problems with the rest of the fight, I just want to the horizontal lightning attack to be less ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

He doesn't deal dragon damage though, he does fire and lightning

i read a guide bout nova blast need to use slinger to destroy those bigger crystal and I got carted less. Information is key.

as long as you are using a melee weapon just stay under him its pretty safe, he seems to really like shooting fireballs if you stay away from him.

For me Zoh Shia is pretty easy. I just use a block weapon, full on 3/3 guard, healing mantle, and use the elemental slinger ammo in the area on the crystals it creates, lots of free damage. This is mentioned in the hunter notes. You'll casually have it dead in 12-15 mins. Happy hunting.

I find staying to his sides and under him (obviously move away when he blasts below him) to be pretty optimal, but yeah, if he knocks you around he will probably start his fireball blitz+lightning line finisher. People need to get into the habit of A Spamming the superman dive. B using Dust of Life/Lifepowders. DPS doesn't mean anything if you spend all your carts, you can take 4 seconds to put ur weapon away and use a powder. Keep it on your quick bar or on radial. Having a wide range SnS or Hunting Horn makes the fight way easier too.

always doing solo first, learn the monster moveset then try SOSing with people. Soloing it is a lot easier actually, you have 3 cart chances for yourself. I myself managed to succeed on second try. And then trying on SOS and quest failed in less than 10 minutes because people get mass carted
