They need to stop rendering Subspecies Redundant...
It has been happening a long time now, but I still think it is a d!ck move and cheapens a lot of monsters...
What I'm getting at is when you have a Monster Species and Subspecies with different movesets in one game... then in some later game they've just fused the movesets together to make the base Species stronger, but completely destroyed everything that made the Subspecies distinctive in the process.
I noticed it way back... somewhere between 4U and GU Nargacuga inherited all of Green Nargacuga's moves. In GU specifically Lagiacrus inherited moves from Ivory Lagiacrus and even Abyssal Lagiacrus to make it a threat on land because it couldn't be fought underwater any more (so why didn't they just give us Ivory Lagi instead?) ... Rathalos is a rather extreme example since it has now absorbed moves from Azure Rathalos, Silver Rathalos AND Dreadking Rathalos... but they're not about to remove AzRath nor SilRath since Raths are basically flagships for the entire series. I dread to imagine what they'll do to keep them distinctive now. How long until baseline Rathalos gets the SilRath upgrades we saw in World?

And now apparently every Mizutsune is Soulseer Mizutsune. Suddenly the iconic glowing eye and fire bubbles on what was only ever a Water Monster before... and in doing so they've also more-or-less rendered Sunbreak's Violet Mizutsune Rare Species redundant too (since that was basically just a reskinned Soulseer).
They even changed its main elemental weakness. It used to be weak to Fire and only its front claws for some strange reason were weak to Thunder. But now apparently Thunder and Dragon of all things are the way to go.

I've no doubt that when we get Lagiacrus, it will be even more like Abyssal Lagi (but on land) than GU's version was. We'll never see Ivory Lagiacrus again, even though it was a part of the story in 3rd generation.

I'm also pretty sure that Yian Kut-Ku has inherited moves from Yian Garuga... but I can't be entirely sure about that.

I mean, Mizu has a one star weakness to elements in this game, they basically want you to hit it with status.

Most monsters have 1-star weakness to most elements on most bodyparts. It means nothing. I main Bow. I know how to shoot weak bodyparts... even if for some insanely silly reason, the parts that are weaker to elements do not coincide with any of the parts weak to shot damage. Whatever. Pierce Coatings synergise well with element damage.
