They won't do a wall of shame, no, but they said they were going to ban cheaters from the boards. We just don't know when they will do so (Was on their twitter.) Like I said, all it did was plaster a target on the people's backs.
The cheaters are here to stay, unfortunately.
There are tons of mods that give you a competitive edge on a leader-board, but there are also tons of mods that are harmless when it comes to competition. I have zero faith that Capcom will implement a system that could distinguish between them.
I also don't believe they will ban anyone that uses mods because they know the popularity of modding on PC. Every banned player is one that probably won't be sticking around to buy microtransactions and expansions.
I unironically think an automated system where someone getting multiple instances of "too early than minimum time" results in a ranking time ban is a good idea.
If Capcom bases this "minimum time" off of what the actual best players are capable of, then it shouldn't be an issue in knowing what the possible range of "earliest time" is.
Let console users have abit of fun... (if shared that is)
That gives me very little faith in their ability to root out cheaters. If they can't do the bare minimum how are they going to catch the people that use damage multipliers to subtly alter their damage by a couple percent.
