For example, go look in device manager and go to display settings and make sure your GPU is enabled. Or sometimes go on the Nvidia gpu checker thing in the windows pop up menu on the taskbar for programs and if it's off there should be a big button that says something along the lines of "Enable this GPU"
It is a typical Windows Home issue. Check your background apps and share a DxDiag report for advice.
