The only PITA is the waiting/resting for it to appear
Either that or learn how to Perfect Guard (i need to too, but better safe than sorry)
Also some constitution jewel's or skill on armor is really nice.
Worst case you could consider using fire resistance, about 20 is all you need if you go higher it doesnt really pay off unless you also block through it.
But ya, just when you see him going for the move or the ground turns red its time to run boy run. Also Leap of Faith is a good 1 slot jewel for this fight cause it give you more iframes can literally leap of faith inside the red zone if you time it right and have too.
Well dont fight against how you play!
Make your build work with how you play!
So if I was in your shoes, I would actually double down on tanking Zho.
Look for armor with "Alluring"
Look for Constitution skill, skill reduces stam usage for sprinting/blocking that sort of stuff.
Put 3 piece Fire Resist on your build.
Test out Guard Up, but I doubt that is what you need.
More likely you just need a weapon with native guard and then put offensive guard on there so you gain 15% attack after perfect guard happens sometimes even if you dont have the timing down right.
If you cannot perfect guard often with practice throw it out
After that its just look at how much crit/affinity you have if its high go crit damage.
If not a lot of affinity pick up ATK +5.
Assuming you are leveling defense stat on armor, should be a better build for you.
With alluring set bonus dont dodge around cause you will make him spin.
Although I imagine a lot of rando's are using Alluring when they should not be in random groups.
1) See all the slinger ammo on the ground? Its for a reason. EVERY single stomp he does, he produces crystals right under his face. Shoot the crystal with the slinger ammo, BLAM 150-300 damage per crystal and they chain. Do this EVERY single time he stomps and phase 1 ends quick.
2) Phase 2 - he runs to the center and begins casting his super nova. MOVE TO THE FAR END OF THE WALL AS FAR AS YOU CAN. Now LOOK AT HIM, Dodge any fireballs coming your way without moving into the center.
3) Phase 2 - Continue with slinger crystal combo as you deal damage. Now as well there are 2 MASSIVE rocks in the room that you can crash down on him for about 6-7k damage. When he charges try to lure him under them. Rinse repeat. DPS, Crystal pop, Drop rocks.
4) Phase 3 - now hes in full all out mode. He still spawns crystals but now he can blow them up with his lighting. So trigger them before he does. Stay on his hind legs, cut off tail and once a wound appears on the leg, focus strike and it will take him down. Run to his face and forehands, do as much damage as you can. Rinse, repeat.
Side notes
The large crystals he spawns during P4 can also be blown up but only be creating a chain explosion from the smaller crystals.
Just like Jin when he does his mini super nova in P4, run to one of the large crystal to take cover. He gets exhausted for about 10-20 seconds after his nova, best time to unload DPS onto him as he recovers. But move away fast, he goes for an instant charge after recovery.
This fight is less about a damage check and more about using the mechanics in the room to your advantage. Yes you can just beat him to death but its a slog, when you have frequent use items around you that will not only deal alot of damage to him but break tons of parts.
Happy Hunting.
I killed 19 zoh shias. It's going great.
