Second, make sure you pay attention to the skills your armor has. In this case your build would be focused around critical draw and doing attacks out of sheathe.
So your main strategy is unsheathed your weapon into a charged draw attack, then putting your weapon away to get the affinity again which guarantees a critical hit on every draw attack.
Aim for the head to get KO's then go into a true charged slash(the really big attack greataword has.)
Combine these with offset attacks from the rising slash and you'll get more than a few good damage opportunities.
Thirdly, don't use the support hunters. They don't have good damage output. To get a good time you'll want to do it on your own. The monsters health is lower that way. It will be a little harder but I know you can do it.
My last bit of advice is that gs starts with a whetfish scale(or whetfish scale+ I don't remember)
But it lets you sharpen way faster. Keeping your sharpness topped up with that will definitely lower your time.
Good luck hunter! Keep going!
Just Kidding
That's the beauty of Arena Quest. It strips you from your OP weap & armor.
I manage to get 4:49 using GS and made 3 mistakes.
This is how I do it.
Fly with your mount and do charge jump atk. Get 2 wounds and make sure the bear crash itself to the pillar. Get your TCS combo and when it wakes up he will scream 2 times. Block the 1st scream, wear your evasion mantle and dodge the 2nd scream for atk boost. After that is the true fight begins.
To OP. It's time to git gud. That's what the Arena is all about.
Me and my buddy started at getting 7 minute times. After strategizing and stepping out of our comfort zone with weapons we don't really use, we shaved it down to 4:33 after about an hour and a half.
I don't want to watch another three guides just because the game doesn't give me the option to use Long Sword.
It chains attacks on its hind legs too much, wasting time and hold up the "Gotcha!" card. Its hind legs funnel you into its tail, where it zones you out from hitting its forelegs or head. It loses its weak zone to "Shot" damage when... enraged? Generally not an optimal Monster for Arena. (Also, Arena has always been bad content; did you know that in Tri, you could only play Arena in local co-op?
I got really, really luck with a big, smart Greatsword getter, and we got a 4:36 after the third try. Absolutely pleased with it, and we'd even be in the top 10,000 for duos if the leaderboards were cleaned.
If you aren't willing to work with what the game is prescribing you for the quest, then you can only blame yourself when you don't get on the leaderboard.
This is coming from a guy, me, that pretty much has exclusively used SWAX since 3U. I have over 1000 hunts in World with it and my 2nd highest is hammer with like a measley 20.
bro just play the game why are you mad about more options
It is, but you need to be completely flawless and get lucky with RNG for the A rank to be achievable. If you don't discerning dodge everything within the last possible frame you just won't have enough stamina or trickster gauge to kill it within 5 minutes
Though I'll call it a day with a single A rank.
