TU1 is nice, just underwhelming...
As someone who crushed the main game, all achievements, all armor crafted, ect. I get the argument I played way more than most people but with TU1 there's no arguing that it's lackluster.

1. The hub is nice for consolidating all the various facilities though the cooking hub is not really used yet and the joining lobby member quests can be done anywhere kinda taking away the point of the hub, but whatever.

2. There's only 2 new armor sets both of which were fully crafted in the evening of the drop by just repeat farming the hunts didn't take but an hour or so

3. The biggest disappointment is the lack of Arena content, obviously I know there's more to come but launching with 2 1/2 arena events is just sad. I got A time in them all 1st or second try and while it was exciting to get A in the Event Arena looking at the leader board and being in 4,000th place with a good time and seeing all the 000 and sub 2 minute score was disappointing.

4. 2 new fights that really don't change the meta (I got gold crown Mizutsune by chance and was able to get the small crown from discord)
5. I am glad we got more T8 monsters to hunt but seeing as every already has BIS ugly destiny weapons there's really no MAJOR point in farming T8 right now..

TL;DR: 2 new fights that don't change the meta, 3 Arena quests with cheated leader boards already, A nice hub and that's pretty much it for now, IDK maybe I'm just being to critical

Hub should've been base game
Arena should've been base game
Zoh Shia HR should've been base game
I don't consider these part of the update, I consider them missing features that should've been in the game a month ago.

Also yeah the leaderboards being full of hackers already is hilarious.

I agree and we still don't have a room either to decorate lol maybe in the expansion idk.. Also I don't get why they couldn't calculate the highest DPS a weapon can do (which they force you to use) and see how long in a lab environment it takes to kill the monster doing that DPS and ban anyone who did it faster simple as.

I'm having a blast, I'm sorry you aren't able to enjoy it to the extent that most people seem to be. In my lobby just a second ago we all gathered to watch the Diva and everyone was shooting off fireworks during the peak of the song it was awesome.
Who knew you threaten to ban cheaters, you actually motivated players to cheat. I agree its abit underwhelming and seeing how they are going to drip feed little bits of "meh" content until august for the next title update. Its really frustrating. Capcom should be able to release a new monster monthly at this point. They have established monster designs and art work. How hard would it be ported from World to Wilds..? Especially with how successful it has been, they should be dumping talent into this game. No one is going to spend $5 on a damn siekrat token BTW... Arch tempered Rey isn't even coming out until the 24th of April.. 3 weeks away. That is SLOOOOOW. The game is still feeling very rushed. The fact Zoh Shia is an HP sponge is another lazy way to pad out the game. Its not fun. Its not challenging. Its boring.
The whole update should have been in the base game lol

yea
For it being 1 month after release, it's pretty impressive for what it is. You can tell it was content that just didn't make the cut before release due to development constraints, but it is pretty well polished all things considered. The TU1 update isn't "Done" it is broken into parts that spread into early may, including the endemic life display. We get Arch tempered Ray Dau near the end of april as well and the spring blossom near the same time frame.

such a slow drip feed for anything 'meaningful'
yup. Bought the game now we wait for 7 months for them to finish making the base game lol. This is why I rarely buy new big budget games until at least a few weeks after launch. I wanted to play with friends but turns out.. if I play online. I either get disconnected from the party or crash. on some days of course. not all days. just when the game doesnt feel like working.

Yup. Meanwhile with smaller game dev studios and indies its near flawless and fun from day one like with ai limit. there was a couple bugs they fixed in a few hours. and boom. content complete game that is much cheaper.

I will continue rarely if ever buying aaa budget games without them proving themselves first. and even then. well they have to provide more value and entertainment vs the smaller studios that are just embarrassing the aaa games industry at this point.

just wanted to add. I hate the disrespectful artian weapon system that tells me my time is worth nothing because all the farming you did means nothing cause bad rng rolls lol.

If the monsters were actually hard that would be a huge problem.

Pretty standard MH drip. What was TU1's update in world? Oh yeah, a pickle.

This first TU is padding. 75% of this update isn't new content. Anyone who says otherwise is just defending the multimillion dollar company. Keep piling up copium I guess.

Same

Also Mizu is kind of crap. Stupid looking gear that's useless. Adding in middling monsters at this point is dumb. The game already suffers from being way too easy, the last thing it needs is more gimmie fights when is already had too many of them.

yea i was a little let down by the 2 new armor sets not really changing the meta/BIS all that much and them being super easy just didn't help. I thought the arena would have been cool but only have 3 things atm with no real reward besides a few pendents of which the 'coolest' one being locked out because of cheaters was lame.
