Rankings leaderboard cheaters
I'm not surprised that in less than 24 hours since update release, the rankings leaderboard is filled with cheaters. At least top 100 on everything are cheaters, but probably even more since there's cheats out there that let you adjust your specific damage output. It's entirely possible that people are using the software to slightly increase their damage numbers just to give them enough edge to rank high without appearing like they're cheating.

Capcom, if you're listening, and care to stop the cheating, or even implement some kind of anti-cheat, I'd be happy to provide information on explicitly which software(s) is being used for this cheating. I'm not talking about the mods either.

It took less than an hour after the update went live for people to scour the rankings.

top 3000 cheaters you mean xD killing chatacabra in 8 second, its the time it takes to reach him and attack 1 time
FallenActual 4 月 4 日 上午 10:38
yea I was excited about my 4,000th placement with a sub 5 minute kill till I seen the cheaters in the sub 2 minute and below... So much for Capcom getting on top of this. How hard would it to have implemented something that auto bans people who get a time higher than the highest possible legit or Tool assisted run. For example if the highest damaging attack a weapon can do is set to go off on repeat with the monster just standing there (AI turned off) and somone beats it faster, ban em instantly with a script it can't be that hard.

Capcom did mention they will monitor the kill times for the arena. My guess is that whoever is below a certain expected time will get banned outright and their time removed from the ranking.

I mean anyone below 1 min will likely be banned

I hate to tell you ppl but kill times can in fact be very low and I mean very low but the amount of skill and rng needed is insane so unless the gear they give you is so bad it basically forces you to be near a 4-5 min time it can in fact be lower

I really don't understand how companies keep doing this over and over and over again. Anytime you have a leaderboard, you have cheaters. Since an 8 second Chatacabra kill is not possible, that person should simply be banned. I also don't understand how they can't introduce sanity checks before a score is placed.

Having a team of 10 constantly watching over the leaderboard would partially solve the issue until CAPCOM can give their own heads a shake.

100% I've been screaming this for ages why is it so hard to put in a sanity checking script that just auto bans anything thats not physically possible past the best possible conditions IE monster AI turned off so its not moving and constantly doing the highest DPS a specific weapon can possible do. I just don't get it
I fully agree that the leader board is filled with impossible times, but having a cut-off near the "ideal" time would not be a great solution at all. neither would having a team of 10 people watching over the board be a solution.

Why you ask? if there's a cut-off, cheaters would just gravitate and slowly figure out that time and then the board would be filled to the brim with that specific kill time. Making the rankings useless once again.

What about a team of people that monitor it? same issue, except now you also expect a human to just kinda guesstimate whether a kill time is possible or not.

At the end of the day, in a game that allows client side modifications like this, it's just not possible to have a functioning leader board. You'd have to either completely prevent people from being able to do any kind of modding or have some kind of integrity check for data that is received on the server. Now I'm no systems communications expert, but I wouldn't even know how to begin with the latter.

You won't have OP setups in arenas, so you won't have 30 second kill times. Around 1:30 can be possible, but not the 30 seconds you've seen on specific LBG videos.

Wild how Capcom announced they will be banning leaderboard cheating and they still threw themselves in with that 0 second kill time lmfao.

I don't really care about speedruns and leaderboards but this is B S... all those people with like 9 seconds clear should be permabanned.

A scoreboard is a welcome sign for cheaters.

Capcom surely knew that, but ignored it. :sh3angry:
Xerastraza 4 月 4 日 上午 11:43
They Probably are not going to be cleaning up the list in Real time.
They will probably have a set interval and a team check logs or whatever they use to manual check and clean it up weekly or or update at something like 3am daily.
So yes your going to see cheaters on the list for a period till it gets cleaned up.

hilarious that the scoreboard is the new wall of shame
