It is all a matter of perspective:
You can say my game is Early Access and it get 4 updates to complete it.
You can also say, my game is beyond godlike, completed, 70 bucks expensive and it get free updates.
It the end it does not matter. The gaming community has been proven as the customer base that is easiest to gaslight. You can sell them a black screen and they will defend you.
Nothing can be done against it. Just have fun with the game.
You don't need to be grateful, but it is what it is. And people who bought this game (who also played previous titles) already know this.
If you don't like it, then don't buy it now, and wait till 1 or 2 years when the game is already finish with all the updates, then buy it. At that time, you get the full game and probably big discount for it too.
It's just the matter if you want to wait or not.
Rise had a gathering hub.
Rise had arena quests.
Both are series traditions, and were base-game content clearly cut out of Wilds and forced into a title update.
With how much of a jobber mizutsune was even with stolen soulseer mechanics (which is lame and devalues the original Soulseer) I am going to assume he was also intended to be base game and the weapons were just given steroids to make them endgame.
Lots of new players, they just don't get it lol
MHG didn't do this.
MH Portable didn't do this.
MH Dos didn't do this.
MH Portable 2 didn't do this.
MH2G didn't do this.
The entire Frontier MMO did not do this. What was advertised was what you got.
MHTri didn't do this.
MH Portable 3 didn't do this.
MH3U didn't do this.
MH4 didn't do this.
MH4U didn't do this.
MHGen didn't do this.
MHGU didn't do this.
And Rise's issues were blamed on/excused due to covid workplace changes, by the devs themselves.
People expected a finished damn game, can you blame them?
Ok
World had the excuse of, new engine, had to make a lot of new models, monsters, rigs, etc for the first full HD MH game on console.
Wilds doesn't have as much of an excuse, World was already their first go and push at making a lot of stuff that most MH's would reuse monsters for the next game to build upon and fill out the roster with options and content.
Wilds just doesn't for the most part and it's rather lame.
I've been playing since 3U. I know.
But also the old games more or less forced you to buy an entirely new game when the G Rank stuff came out. That's like, standard Capcom practice for those days. 8000 different versions of SF2, same for SF3, SF Alpha etc.
Tri specifically also had only 18 large monsters when it launch before 3U. Definitely could've benefitted from those free updates.
So either push it to the title update OR they have to delay the release date.
I personally don't might it, as long as they don't take stuff from base game to sell them as paid DLC.
Again, as I said it's fine if you don't like how they do it.
You can choose to not buy them game at all, OR wait till it get to the completed stage (after 1-2 years) and buy it then.
Read the whole damn post. They have no covid excuse this time.
WHY WAS GATHERING HUB NOT BASE GAME
WHY WAS ZOH SHIA NOT BASE GAME
WHY WERE ARENA QUESTS NOT BASE GAME
What's the excuse?
