The performance will never be fixed...
Because they cant fix it, the problem is the game engine, they would have to remake the game using a different engine. The devs should of used the MT Framework engine from Monster Hunter World but the problem is Capcom wont let their devs use any other engine but the RE engine now...

What're your specs? Performance has been fine for me and World and Iceborne definitely had these issues too from both optimization and people just not getting how PC gaming works but mostly the latter

Do you run a FPS counter while playing? I have a 3080 and a Ryzen 9 5900x.

I don't, what settings and performance are you getting with those?

Nah man this game has objectively poor performance. Many reputable outlets have already covered the texture streaming issues and frame pacing problems.

Using REFramework bypasses Capcom's internal DRM, which reduces some of the stutters for sure. But it's still a badly put together game. RE Engine just can't handle open world, it seems.

I feel like half of you lie in some shape or form. I have almost a 5k rig that runs litteraly everything without issue Besides Dragons Dogma 2 which had fps drops and Wilds to a lesser degree, are just not optimized and wonky. I will have pop in and a stutter here or there.

Many others including friends running with a 4090 with a great cpu and ram as well and still have pop in texture issues and stutters. If you're playing on a low medium setting then that's fine but don't sit here and lie.

You don't buy a luxury vehicle and not use all it's features

I don't think it's an engine issue. Maybe it contributes, but it certainly isn't the only cause.
I think Capcom didn't take the time to implement aggressive enough optimization. Too much stuff is rendered at once. Parts of maps you aren't even in are rendered occasionally and low LODs for far distances are too high quality.
It's a plausible explanation since Capcom was obviously rushed to release the game before 2nd quarter. It could be fixed...if they are willing to put the time and work into it.

It 100% is. We know this because it's not the first game with these issues. REengine struggling with more open world games that have lots of AI is a very well documented thing.

There are no performance issues in Ba Sing Se
Unfortunately. :re0greenherb:
No, they absolutely could fix the performance without moving it to a new engine, in this case the REX Engine.

For example, they could back-port parts of the REX Engine into the game, they could just get better programmers to do a deep dive into the performance issues the game has and do targeted fixes, etc.

"just remake the game, lmao"

Yeah that was the point, There is nothing else to do than move engine to REX when and if that is finished entirely and that isn't realistic.

Using MT framework on this would eat the development cycle and contribute nothing. Think of the senior staff who has to re-train people who was hired post MT to learn MT. Not to mention how would re-learning MT help develop their new engine REX. I assume REX will shared some language to RE.

Yeah you’re probably right tbh. Dragon’s Dogma 2 still isn’t fixed after almost a year.

No, they don't need to remake the game. You can fix portions of a codebase without doing a complete rewrite. Developers do that all the time during development.
