People are bad
Wow are people not good at Zho Shia, failed the quest 5 times at the last minute because someone doesnt heal and get one shot. Do people just not properly prepare for this fight?

With this game particularly, I've noticed many more players with bad habits and attitudes -- if it's not spamming "I'M GOONING!" stickers in the lobbies, it's flash podding Gore Magala and then instantly carting. I wouldn't be surprised if people were taking Zoh Shia lightly due to the rest of the game being so easy to complete without any effort, and thus not preparing adequately for it. Would be in ones interests to play with a select group of friends or to join another's Zho Shia quest, or to do the heavy work yourself and heal everyone (which does suck to do if you weren't planning to do so before).

Ive noticed this a ton too with bad habits
the only thing about zoh shia you really have to prepare for in a unique way is the nova, and the game doesn't tell you how to deal with the nova until after you've carted to it once already, makes sense most people would be unprepared.
The game got 10 million downloads. The chances of you getting new and inexperienced players are high. Happy hunting.

it does tell you before carting the first time
It really is a lot of the game having a really poor difficulty curve. Zoh Shia isn't THAT bad compared to past monsters, but you can't really stunlock it like you can everything else, not to mention it has specific things you have to pay attention to. Other monsters, most people are able to just... deal with them.

But you can if you have the right element. You cant bully him like low rank monsters people just get greedy with swings and dont want to learn where to place themselves in fights tbh

No, they do not. MH: Wilds is some people's first MH an Zo Shia is the only one that will offer a challenge. Highest difficulty we had was Temp Arkveld at a 7. This homie is an 8 with a significantly longer fight than Temp Arkveld. So yeah. This will continue for a little while.

With a 7% chance to carve and 3% chance to drop for one of the items off ZoShia, it'll be a long road. Pack a lunch.

Outside of this game possibly being a lot of people's first MH game, you have to remember that anything before tempered monsters was pretty damn easy. So people didn't learn how to deal with monsters that can actually wreck you. Add to that that most people will mindlessly follow some guide for the "best build" and basically make glass cannons because of it, not thinking about maybe making a more defensive build for a fight they're struggling with. Because it's not "the optimal build".

I personally specifically made a build for Zoh Shia farming that's a lot more defensive. Still good crit chance (like 60%), but with max recovery speed and recovery up, and max thunder res and level2 fire res. Plus I now have 2 pieces of Zoh Shia armor, meaning I get a good amount of passive health regen. With all of that combined I only had to heal twice in my last Zoh Shia fight because the armor bonus healed me a good amount already. And I'm now farming for the 4 piece bonus as I honestly prefer a build that does a bit less damage, but is basically immortal as long as I avoid damage when I can.

Thats certainly true. I think its just frustrating when a large portion complain about difficulty and then hunts fail due to them sitting in front of him and getting one shot by the fireball or getting run over multiple times.

Doesn't heal and get one shot?

Zoh Shia need thoughts while fighting him you cant just run in and only attack hoping for the best

Do you know which has faster healing, 4 piece arkveld or 4 piece zoh? I'm trying to decide which to use for their passive healing bonuses.
to be fair most likely only ever fought it once at low rank and didn't have to remotely learn its mechanics since it was such an easy fight in low rank and wasn't repeatable without finding others to join. now people have to learn the fight properly
