Zoh shia took me 25min to kill wtf

So, soloing this as investigation took me 25min with bow in maxed out gear.

I didn’t cart but it takes so freaking long to kill. I don’t know why, maybe it’s because of DP nerf, it felt like I have lost a lot of dps thanks to the update.

I seriously hope it’s just that bow is kinda weak now or needs a different build.

I literally just cleared him in 16 minutes and that's because I was getting smacked around a lot. The first time I hunted him with a buddy it took us 20 cause we've literally only fought him once before in the story, not really a good opportunity to learn his moveset.

I've been playing since 3U, so basically just as long as you. So, skill issue if it's taking you 20 to kill Zoh.

You the one who got thrown around like a sack of puppies, and you telling others have skill issue.

For reference I didn't use any healing items during the whole fight, and only fought him once in HR.

So whatever you trying to prove, you doing it wrong.

To close this discussion since I have more important stuff to do, he cannot touch you at all if you stay between his back legs and his tail.

"The community agreed it takes 20 minutes to kill him." The Monster Hunter community isn't generally longtime. Work out your gear or hitzone issues before you whine about long kill times. Also, multiple times? This was my 2nd actual attempt and first solo. But alright.

It took me 19 mins to kill with charge blade, didn't cart. pretty much full bis with some alterations for hp regen. dude has like 50k hp so it does take a bit to kill it but i wasnt going for a speed kill and just learning his moveset to last phase (first kill, 4th try)

Unfortunately I wasn't able to carve his tail or him after killed. this is due to mods btw (reframework) so disable them I guess if you use any.

Just say you can't kill him faster than 20 minutes. It's fine. I won't judge.

honestly kinda disappointed in zoh shia. its just a massive HP pool with awful damaging attacks (it should NOT be hitting as hard as it did in low rank) and the few high damage attacks it has are hard knockdowns so you can seikret to safety or just wait until it stops attacking to get up and then get to safety

What you mean? I have like 400+ defense with 12 Fire Res after buffs and running Gore + Arkveld armor fully upgraded and he's still chunking me for like half my health for certain attacks. Are you expecting he should be nearly one-shotting you or something?

Most of these guys don’t even mention their class. sure, face tanking as the best casual class gunlance with no effort is a joke for you.

I'm not going to say that Zoh shia is a gimmick fight, but the boss does take a lot of damage from exploding the crystals he creates and dropping the two rocks on him.

Those alone will probably shave off 30% of the fight with a little bit of effort.

Similar to Shara Ishvalda, you can wallbang and drop 2 walls on it and almost skip phase 1

They upgraded the elemental damage for quite a few Bow moves, including straight up adding it to things that should have had it in the first place. One of the Dragon Bows has Pierce Coatings. Either Arkveld or Guardian Arkveld.... can't remember which. Use that one though. Zoh Shia is big enough to justify Pierce Coatings and they play well with elemental damage.
They only nerfed Dragon Piercer.... which is unfortunate... but whatever.
For some reason they also increased the damage of Thousand Dragons, but that move is just a waste of several seconds for nothing because of its garbage range, so adding more damage to the move that will never hit anything achieves nothing anyway.
