Well considering the food is delivered from the other villages, which is sort of implied when you pick which meal you want... what did you expect?

The canteen sucks, Plain and simple.

I know it's not that big of an issue, that the game has bigger problems, but I'm still mad at how trash, garbage the food and now canteen system in Wilds is. Legitimately the absolute worst in the series.

The canteen only 4 dishes, those 4 dishes are a copy/paste from the dishes each town gives you when they randomly invite you to eat. You can only eat at the canteen if you have a voucher corresponding to the town the food is from, and those you get every blue moon. You cannot pay with money, points nor anything else. Voucher or get out. When eating, no one else can see you eating. In the last 2 MHs you could see everyone eating, now they literally sit there doing absolutely nothing at all while looking at a point in front of them as if they were in some sort of trance, then they stand up.

From trailers and the way they talked about it, it looked like we were getting back the Canteen and food system we've all loved for over 20 years. It is not. I hate it.

Agreed, I miss the World/Iceborn Canteen. Much more useful and less tedious. The ingredient grind of wilds gets on my nerves. I like the game but it dropped the ball in more than one way.
