If youre running a build thats all out attack, try putting on some defensive skills (particularly, evade window). Your hunt will take a couple minutes longer, but you'll have more survivability, and you'll learn the fight quicker.
and people said the game was too easy lol
Also, run a little fire resistance, most of the biggest hits are fire
This is nothing like monster hunter what?
You built up an image in your head of what monster hunter should be and its all based on Rise and World... lol
The difficulty of the fight is what I mean. Like actually having to pay attention to how the monster does things and I can actually fail the hunt, unlike every single other fight in the story up to that point. I had only carted once. ONCE. This particular fight? I actually had three failed attempts with different groups of people. It made me go and... equip fire resistance gems. Yeah. For once, I actually had to pay attention to my defense.
Also, I've played every single Monster Hunter generation except first. Finished Freedom Unite, hunted most of the monsters in Generations until my 3DS gave out on me. My first Monster Hunter was Tri. To say I'm a veteran Monster Hunter is pretty accurate at this point. I've played other entries in the series, too, but those are some of my highlights. I think I know what I'm talking about with this actually starting to feel like Monster Hunter again.
I didn't say it felt exactly like oldschool Monster Hunter. Just that it's starting to get there. Slowly.

All i can say is , FINALLY, because this game was MH babymode for way too long. NOW, its shaping up.
People got so used to hide behind cover the devs just troll us, instead of hiding behind it we actually need to destroy it.
Yep. Actually having to engage with the game's systems, who would have thought? I'm glad to see that, just like with Rise, Capcom knows how to make the game difficult and satisfying when they want to. Makes me excited for AT Rey Dau lol
If you get the bad rng and he wants you dead at all costs, block.
gg
Killed him 3 times and got 3 gems, i can't complain.
