I'm excited about the war on mods.
I doubt Capcom will do anything, but the fact is, I think people who mod, should not be able to go online with other players.

I've not run into anything that I could even say was cheating.

Although here is a thing,
If I take my Hunter Level 300 out to farm early level matts from sub 3 star creatures in the SOS online?
How would that look to some newbie who is like Hunter Level 25?

Well that would look like cheating, because I have almost all the armor gear and loads of crystals and I can lock down a sub star 3 Monster in paralysis.

Why am I even farming sub 3 monsters?
Because there are 16 weapons and the only place to get the early matts is from sub level 3 monsters.

I am with OP as back in sunbreak mods did hurt players. The devs even put out a letter to advise people NOT to play with randoms because if they joined a modded player (adjusting quest times primarily) their save file could be corrupted. People want to mod that is cool but they should stick to offline or with only friends that mod as well as it is less likely to corrupt a similarly modded save.

There is a difference between mods and cheats. If you want your hunter to have massive booba and have rathalos look like Thomas the tank engine, that is fine.

I'd rather have Randy Savage and the Kool-Aid man, especially with all the destructable terrain would be very cool having the KA man crash through a wall and demand everyone have a cool drink.

Absolutely and I hope CAPCOM will make that distinction internally.

Although, I suspect they will err too much on the side of leniency to begin with anyway.

or people who want to use cheat mods to screw around can stay offline and stop ruining things to the rest of us that want to play legit.

Or just set the support ship to bring back weapons and keep farming HR. I think I've had to go back and do a low rank twice.

Yeah bc my mod that turns my seikret into thomas the train is soooo detrimental to the multiplayer experience of other players who cant even see it.

I can't say specifically what because I don't want to risk getting banned, but in terms of monster uh, modifications, oh sweet summer child it can get worse. So much worse.

I know people are not gonna like this and I really could care less but I would rather not have mods at all than possibly have my save corrupted and have hunts I join have a cheater.

And before anyone says that doesn't happen yes it did happen in Rise. I literally could care less what you do outside of the public. Any mods should stay offline and if that what it takes to clean up pub lobbies I'm all for it.

I actually like helping out randoms and just do some hunts where I'm just hunting the monster.
