how much the performance will improve with the vram optimization and the direct storage update is anyones guess but i think its fair to say that for some rigs its gonna be atleast a bit more stable framrates. depends on your exact configuration though.

i only managed to hit 60 fps on lowest settings and the game looks very bad then refunded afterwards

I hope they fix the stupid asset streaming so we don't have to keep the hi res pack installed to avoid this new $70 game from looking like a 3ds port. Would be mostly fine with just that.
