Does this game have an ending?
Is this a game where you play it once, then just add it to your collection of played games or is this one of those games where the developers is trying to keep players around (grinding, adding new content, etc)?

Every game doesn't have an ending if you can't stop yourself anyway
they update it every month until the next big dlc for it then do another year or 2 of updates then show off the next monster hunter. cycle repeat

It has a story ending and some post story content, with more on the way
There is a story ending, but for the most part with monster hunter games you play until you're satisfied with the game. More content will come over time as well, and a large DLC will be released mashing a very large amount of content onto the end game.

If you're a player that largely just wants to play a game until you see credits monster hunter might not be the perfect game for you, but if you like to play a game with a good amount of replay and variety available even past the credits you'll probably like monster hunter.

It will end in some years. After a addon and 1-2 years of content updates.
So you play it for a while take a break and return for for a week or so.
It's the latter.

Yes. The game has an ending. But no one cares about that. It is about endless fun.
