Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds

monster hunter only crashes when i have chrome open
so some states for my computer specs:
I have a
32 gb ram
ryzen 9 7900x
amd radeon RX 6700xt

And everything is running off an ssd.

i think its slighly under the recommended specs but ive had no problems running the game, unless chrome is open. When ever chrome or edge is open like say i was on youtube or responding a work email, monster hunter crashes within 10 min but if i clean restart and only open monster hunter or a stop it in task manager. just thought it was weird as its never maxing out on task manager and i dont have stuttering issue or other graphical issues with the game. Just hard crashes if chrome is open or was open.

Sounds like RAM load issues and chrome putting additional load on your GPU and VRAM that causes the trouble?

possibly a chrome plugin/extension causing issues?

People still use Chrome?

only thing i have is bit warden and a browser guard i would assume it something with the processing. and a conflict as chrome will crash too when monster hunter crashes.

Could be something to do with the hardware acceleration that Chrome employs.

To test it you could try disabling hardware acceleration and see if it still crashes.

Chrome being such a RAM hog, I wouldn't be surprised if it's due to that on top of the memory leak issue this game has.

I know right?

It does sound like Hardware Acceleration or Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO). I hope links are allowed

Definitely do your own research before changing system files, and keep track of anything you change so you can change it back. Edge is now built on Chromium, so they will probably have similar issues

Odd. My specs are significantly worse -most notably I run the game with 16gb of RAM- and throughout my playtime (100+ hours), I've only had the game outright crash once (my dumbass not initially installing it on an SSD was likely the issue). I personally run Wilds with several tabs of Brave open, which is still built off of Chromium.
