yep poison is big poopoo. just use para and smack the monster into a wheelchair
as far as i've seen up until now, poison is the weakest status.
i mean if u cant hit the monster consistently then poison over duration might be useful but if u can bully the monster its pointless aint it

unless additional effect like in world where daora aura is weakened when poisoned idk

Poison is only good for Foray, on its own it is junk.
Why use poison in this game when sleep procs super fast in this game.
I use the Guild Ace Helm, Arkveld Chest b, Guild Ace Arms, Arkveld Waist b, Guild Ace Legs, with the Rathian SnS. Its a fun little Foray build to mess around with.

I'm not even sure why people use paralysis when sleep seems to proc faster on most monsters and last longer. Can even sleep-bomb if solo, though nobody waits for that in multiplayer.

I still stick with elemental weapons though mostly, even if people claim they're crap. They improve my times.

It's difficult to use sleep well when playing online with others, many of whom are new to the game. While playing solo, it's quite a boost of course.

Good enough to make it viable.

Just about anything is viable in Wilds.
Poison weapons are basically just Raw weapons with a small bonus. It isn't bad to have, but not worth actively trying for. It isn't like we have classic Kushala Daora any more, who was basically the only monster that actively required poison weapons.
Foray is probably good. I don't know, I haven't tested it, but it giving flat attack and affinity is pretty good, especially when everyone online is running paralyze. If you bring a poison weapon, you should have pretty high uptime on the Foray buff.

the monster almost dont have any HP , die really fast ... whats the point in usuing poison ?? is even worse in " high rank"

To make the monster die less fast?
I mean if that is your concern then poison would seem like the right solution, since it does LESS damage overall than some other options. But I guess you could just use other suboptimal weapons for the same effect.
I use Paralyze a lot.

Looked into Poison.

So uh poison seems strange, for one it works as a status.
So once the status procs it deals the same consistent damage.
Basically you can not say poison the monster and then the guy next to you also poisons the monster and now the monster has 2 damage over time debuffs.
Nope it can only have 1 poison DOT.

When you keep striking it with Poison status weapon or Items.
You are building up for the next poison proc DOT status.
Poison status does last longer than Paralyze.

An uh you can easily poison the monster using poison cloud item out of your bag also.
So even if you are not built to act on poison this gives you a nice steady bit of damage you didnt have to work hard towards. Poison cloud wont wake up monsters.

I cant say its more viable than just building a bog standard
BURST skill build
OR
Putting together a Frenzy/Antivirus build

Honestly from what I seen in multiplayer, even a Wide Range/Friendship with Gobbler build is likely a better route cause uh its not hard to put together one of those with some Burst/2piece gore.

Anyway
Paralyze is much more obvious and easily put together for use, you can clearly see it save peoples bacon and make openings for heavy hitters.

Paralyze/Poison though should go on fast hitting weapons with good mobility.
Think Sword and Shield.
Though I have seen Lance pull of Paralyze just fine personally.
