Capcom abandoned MegaMan for this.
If Capcom cant spend enough money and time making Monster Hunter Wilds the best game it can be, what hopes do I even have for them reviving MegaMan, especially in a worthy way? Not the MegaMan 11 "low budget experiment" kind of way, but an actual full blown game.

I was hoping for MegaMan Legends 3 to return, hopefully for Switch 2 as the lowest spec, but that console will actually be capable of so much, I don't think Capcom has it in them anymore if they can't even finish a Monster Hunter game, a series which they loooooove so much and depend on fully for money.

Capcom abandoned way too much for this, not only megaman,
The reality is they found their gold mine and they'll use it until the roof collapse on themselves.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if X7 sucks like it does because Capcom was already dropping the ball trying to put their effort elsewhere. Devil May Cry for example, the first game was much better than MegaMan X7, and is much older. Doesn't that seem odd to you?

Doesn't seem odd at all, companies want to make money, so they are gonna invest in the product they can push to the most people. DMC had more mass appeal back then than MM did, Wilds(and MH in general) has more mass appeal than MM does now. Do I like it? No, cause most every franchise I liked from years ago is either now completely dead or sold out and got dumbed down for a "modern/broader audience."

Play the old games you like(emulation/pc/original consoles) and find new ones when the franchise no longer appeals to you, not really much else anyone can do.

Yeah, lets talk about mega man 11 which whooping total of ... 30k copies at launch week and still to this date only sold 2 million copies.

Yes, Mega Man 11, a game that was made with dozens of dollars for both the development and marketing combined :)
It is a miracle it sold 1 million, let alone 2.

I need to play and finish that game. I bought it on the release day, but stopped playing because I felt that the double gear system was making the game too easy. The original Mega Man games are not known for being easy as I remembered.

not a lot of ppl play such games yea a market is around but not enough to actually subsidize both the company the DEI lessons being gotten for devs nor the investors so the harsh reality is its most likely over for now or forever depends they may make it into a gambling game only LOL
Megaman is my favorite franchise of all time, from the mainline (Megaman, X, Zero, ZX), to battle network, legends, Starforce spinnoffs.

I think we've had so many games in that franchise to the point I'm alright if we get one here and there, it was always one of capcoms more niche series so you have to imagine how well we ate back then for it being so niche.

And why does that have to do anything with Monster Hunter?

Seems to have everything to do when the company that's supposed to make MegaMan is no longer making MegaMan but their main thing is now Monster Hunter... What's so hard to understand? I mean of course I get that MH makes more money, but at this point this is just irresponsible. Are we never going to see MegaMan games again if MH just keeps making millions of sales? Can't we have a transfer of IP's to another company since they don't care anymore?

Again, how is this a Monster Hunter problem?

Capcom made half a dozen different games in the last few years, I'm so sorry your favorite game is not among them, but that does not mean that this is somehow a Monster Hunter issue.

Because if Monster Hunter did not exist, they would be making more MegaMan games :)

Consider Inti Creates. They don't have a Monster Hunter type of game, so what kinda games do they make? Gunvolt, Gal Guardians, Card en Ciel, Blaster Master Zero, etc. Looks very much like the kinda games Capcom was making before Monster Hunter appeared...

This is true, I played that game mostly without the gear system, I forgot it existed. Although there ARE some parts where I kept dying, not realizing they designed it for you to slow down time with that. *facepalm/
